Run till you puke

Hardly anyone is here today. There is a guy running his dog around the park but other than that nobody is here. The dog looks like a pit bull. He is a nice looking dog from here. The wind is starting to pick up. It has been blowing all day. The man and his dog are running fast and at a distance. The soccer team is beginning to show up. The coach and his son are the first one here. The boy is kicking the ball in the air and chasing it. The coach is setting up cones preparing for practice. Slowly more kids start to show up. Many of them start playing with the coach’s son but one goes and talks to the coach by himself. After a while the coach looks upset with what the boy was telling him. The coach made the boy start running while the rest of the team starts practicing. I am guessing the boy got in trouble or did something wrong. The coach is making him pay the price now. The team starts a dribbling drill. The objective is to dribble through the cones as fast as you can. The kids are having a hard time controlling the ball with this wind right now. The kid running doesn’t look like he’s enjoying running in this wind either. He is already struggling to breathe as it seems. They do the dribbling drill for a while then they start a shooting drill. They put a new goalie in for the shooting drill today. This goalie isn’t as good as the original but he isn’t that bad. He is blocking some good shots. The coach signals for the boy running to continue running and not to slow down. That is brutal. He is gasping for air now. The wind isn’t helping him at all. It is starting to get cold now so he is really going to have trouble breathing in a minute. The coach calls for everyone to take a water break. Except the boy running. The team then starts doing one on one drills. These drills are interesting because you get to go against someone one on one and see who is better. The defenders are really shining on this drill. Not one person has gotten past a defender and scored yet. The coach looks mighty frustrated with his offense right now. That can’t be good. The boy running is bending over by a tree at the moment. I think he is throwing up. That’s not fun. The coach all of a sudden makes everyone start running. Probably for lack of offense in that last drill. The coach seems to be a real hard coach. The sun is starting to go down. After about 10 minutes running in the wind and cold the coach calls everyone in. The kid that he made start running at the beginning of practice ran the entire practice without stopping except to throw up. I wonder what he told the coach.

Slam Dunk Park

Slam dunk! Two guys are playing basketball and the guy wearing black just dunked it over the guy in red. That was impressive. The soccer team is barely getting here. The kids are starting to stretch and warm up. The coach is on his phone laughing hard right now. I know because I can hear him laughing from here. He has a very oud laugh. The guys playing basketball are going at it. They both keep scoring on each other. It looks very competitive over there. The soccer coach just told the team to start running laps to warm up. It seems as if the kids really don’t enjoy running as most of them aren’t running too fast, they are basically going walking speed. The coach is just watching the kids jog slowly. He yelled at them to pick up the speed. They must have been slacking. Suddenly I heard a loud yell at the basketball court. When I turn to it I see the guy in red just yelling loudly for no reason… it doesn’t seem like he is hurt it just looks like he is yelling. I wonder why. He sure is getting a lot of attention though from everyone at the park looking at him. After he stopped yelling the two boys started playing basketball again. The soccer boys started a shooting drill. The goalie really shows his skills when they do this drill. Hardly anyone scores on him. There is a dog chasing a cat down the street a ways. The cat is desperately trying to escape but it doesn’t look so good for him. As I am looking that way I see the boy in black dunk it. They are very good basketball players from the looks of it. The soccer team started scrimmaging each other. They seem exhausted from running all the time. The sun is starting to go down. The boy in red just made a 3 while the other guy was covering him. They both get so pumped when they make a basket. It is interesting to watch them play with them being so into it. The soccer team is already leaving even though the sun is not down yet. The boys continue to play though. They are very worn out themselves as it looks now. It is beginning to get cold and dark. They are leaving now.

Be Free Dog Be Free!

Nobody is here at the park as I am getting here. It is kind of windy that might be the reason why nobody is here right now. I am staying in my truck because I don’t want to be in that wind. There is a nice lifted truck in the parking lot but they must be in it or just left it parked here because nobody is outside. A dog is running down the street on the other side of the park. It looks like a German Shepard. He must have got out of the yard. I wonder whose dog it is, there are a lot of houses around here. The dog is running around the park alone with nobody coming after him. He is still pretty far from me. A man came walking from down the street calling the dog. He is about 40 years old. Once the dog heard him calling its name, it started running away from the man! I guess that dog doesn’t want to go back in the yard yet. The man has started running after the dog but the dog is simply way too fast for the man. A young boy comes running down the street, likely the man’s son. The boy is about 13 years old. The man stopped running after the dog already but his son took off after the dog. The kid is faster than his dad but I don’t know if he is going to be able to catch that dog either. The man is walking back to his house looking exhausted. The boy is kept running after the dog down the street and I cannot see him or the dog anymore. Well now there is nobody at the park again. It is starting to get cold outside due to the wind and the sun beginning to set. The man went home for his truck as it looks like I see him driving this way now. I wonder how far the dog and the boy ran. The man is going to look for them. That dog was running away pretty fast from what I saw. I bet that kid didn’t catch it. A black Camaro just pulled in the parking lot. They parked next to the truck. A guy got out of the car. He is a very tall guy, at least 6’8’’. He got in the truck and both of them are leaving now. Both of those vehicles are very nice. The car has a nice exhaust system, it is loud. The man is driving back down the street toward his house. I think his son is in the truck. I don’t see the dog though.. They both seem exhausted and frustrated now. They are driving home, I guess they gave up chasing the dog. It is starting to get dark now it would be hard for them to find the dog now. Nobody is here anymore. As I am leaving I see a dog running on the street. It was going back toward their house finally. I guess it really wasn’t ready to go back in the yard when they were trying to get him.

Take a lap!

Ouch! Some kids are playing football on the other side of the park. Right when I got here one of the guys caught a pass and the other guy pushed him as he was trying to catch it and he fell into the grass. It looked like it stung a little. He got up fast though so that is good news. They continued to play 3 on 3. The soccer team is practicing on this side of the park. They are barely getting here right now. A few of them have started warming up and stretching. There is no one at the basketball courts. The guys playing football are about 17 or 18 years old. They are football players from the looks of it. They are pretty decent as I am watching them play. One of the guys playing quarterback is very accurate with his throws. The other one is not so much but he is not horrible. But he did just over throw someone…. Anyways. The soccer team has started their favorite activity, running! They are running laps at the moment. One of the boys is wearing a white shirt and bright pink shorts. That is different. Their coach is on the phone watching them run. He seems to be laughing and he is smiling so I’m guessing the call is good. The boys playing football are sure getting their work out in today. They have just been going at it. One of the guys playing receiver just caught a touchdown pass over the guy that was covering him. It was impressive. The other team just got the ball now. They have the better quarterback so they should be able to do something. The soccer team started doing a shooting drill with the goalie. The goalie is a wall back there. Not much gets past him. One of the guys caught a pass playing football and as he was running away from the other guy he tripped and fell. All the other guys are laughing at him. It was funny to see but they shouldn’t laugh at him. I think it hurt because he was kind of slow to get off and had to walk it off a little bit. The soccer team is starting to scrimmage each other now. The guys are leaving the park. I guess they are done since that guy got hurt. Wow. That kid that usually dominates everyone scored already. He must be on today. It took him literally like 20 seconds from when the game started. Here comes some girl walking her dog. She is walking a huge dog. It is a black Great Dane. The dog is bigger than her. The sun is starting to go down now. The soccer team seems to be going back and forth now. I think the other team is just trying to keep it as far away as possible from that one kid. He is literally that good compared to the rest of them. Well for some reason the coach stopped them from playing and made them start running again. Poor kids.

I want some pizza

            Wow. Three guys are having a dunking competition on the basketball court and my goodness they can jump. I think they are college basketball players because not many people can jump that high. They are doing numerous tricks such as spinning and dunking, behind the back dunk, and other simpler tricks. They are pretty impressive to say the least. The soccer team is back practicing too. Right now they are just running though. There are a couple kids playing at the park right now. I think there is a party going on over thereunder the tables. They have pizza and a cake. There are not many people there yet though. I wonder if it has started yet. Surely not, I think more people would show up. I will wait and see. The soccer team started a shooting drill right now. The goalie is pretty good from the looks of it. He is blocking almost all the shots the team is shooting. There have been a few to get past him but not many. The three guys playing basketball are still dunking. They seem to be taking turns. I think they are just practicing right now though. There are more people showing up at the party. I guess I was right, it hadn’t started yet earlier. Now there are quite a few more people showing up to the party. The little kids seem so excited to be at the park. Seeing them eat the pizza is making me get hungry. As I turn my attention back to the basketball players I realize that they are no longer there. It is weird I didn’t see them leave. Good thing the soccer team is still here or I would be forced to watch those people eat pizza and get hungry. The soccer team is doing some type of passing drill right now. They all seem exhausted. They practice hard for a youth soccer team. I think they are finishing up soon. The kids at the party are playing on the playground and the parents are talking at the tables. The soccer team is talking in a circle now, they are almost done now. The sun is starting to go down now. A few of the kids from the soccer team are walking to the party. Lucky kids, I still want some of that pizza. The people are all starting to leave now that it is getting dark.

That girl can play...

Goal! The soccer team is back today and they are scrimmaging each other. The forward for the blue team just made a goal as I was walking up to my spot. I think that is the same kid who just dominate everyone else. He is very good for being that young and compared to the others. There is a girl playing basketball against a boy and another boy on the side watching. They are all about 18 or 19 years old. The boy and the girl playing right now are pretty good from the looks of it. I bet they are basketball players. The other guy is on his phone sitting on the court behind where they were playing. There is a man playing with his son and daughter at the playground. They seem to be playing tag. The other guy that was sitting down started playing the girl now and now that guy that was playing sat down. I wonder if she beat him… The girl just made another shot. She is pretty good herself. She can keep up with those boys. I don’t think they are playing easy on her it looks competitive to me. The soccer team is just running around their part of the park now. I guess it’s time to condition for them. The girl and the boy playing are playing competitively with each other. They really aren’t going easy on each other over there, not even for against the girl. The girl can keep up with them though. She is kind of cute so I hope she wins. The dad and his two kids are leaving the park right now. I bet they are tired from all that running around they were doing. The soccer team is still running. Geez they run for a long time. The girl sat down now and the two guys are playing each other now. I think they are all just playing each other. The girl is on her phone now. The two guys are sort of talking trash to each other but I think its just friendly competition. The soccer team just stopped running. I am guessing because the sun is starting to go down. The coach is just talking to them in a circle now. The boys stopped playing already and they started playing a game of horse with everyone. The soccer team starts to leave now. The girl is shooting right now. She just missed. The next guy to shoot misses too. The next one makes it and starts trash talking to the other two. I’m guessing they are competitive friends. He misses the next one. The girl makes it and she moves to the next spot. She shoots again and makes it again. I told you she is good. Then she goes to the next shot. This is the last shot to win. I know from experience. But anyways she misses that shot. The next guy misses again. The next guy makes it and is on his last shot to win too. He makes the next shot and won. He starts trash talking the other guy and girl after he wins. They begin to leave.

Slow and Rainy Day

Where is everyone at? There is usually a lot of people here at the park but today there is just two little boys playing basketball at the basketball court. Not even the soccer team is here today. I guess practice was cancelled because of the rain today. It isn’t raining right now but it just got done raining a little while ago. Nobody is here at all but these two boys playing basketball. They seem to be playing on a wet court but that’s not stopping them. It is a bit chilly today with this wind. The two boys seem to be playing an intense game of basketball right now. They are playing the full court. Both of them hustling for every loose ball and both are somewhat scoring at will. It seems to be really close at the moment. They aren’t doing much talking unless they score then they will say something short. A girl is running her dog around the park now. The girl is cute and the dog is really big. I believe it is a Great Dane. Anyways back to the basketball game. The boy in the black shirt must have won the last game because he started talking trash to his friend like competitive friends do. But now they are playing again. The guy in the red shirt is really trying to beat the guy in the black now but it is remaining close as it seems. The girl running her dog is getting tired because she started walking. It seems like the dog is literally pulling the girl when it starts running. I am just waiting for her to fall. It is getting colder outside so I got in my truck to observe. The boys playing basketball are still going at it. It seems to be close again but I am not too sure. The boy in the red just made a shot while the guy in the black was in his face guarding. The guy in the black drove in on the guy in the red and missed his pull back shot. The guy in the red got the ball and made his next shot. Suddenly he guy in the red starts talking trash back to the guy in the black. I am guessing he just made the winning shot. I turn my attention to the girl attempting to run with her huge dog. Well the dog is running and she is sprinting holding on to the leash at the moment. I don’t think she can keep that up for much longer. I think she is going to fall. It is starting to rain now and it is beginning to get dark. The two boys are both leaving the park. The girl is still running with her dog but I think she is running toward her house. It is beginning to rain hard quickly. The girl is definitely running toward her house. Such a slow day at the park.

Action At the Park

            Wack! The coach just got hit with the ball as I’m arriving to the park. I bet he felt that one. Right in the leg. He was standing next to the goal and turned his head while one of the kids shot the ball and it hit the coach in the leg pretty hard. He seems to be okay now though. There seems to be a pick-up game between a couple guys at the basketball court. As I’m watching them play two players seem to be talking trash to each other. Neither of them seem to be any good this far into watching. I see a man and his dog playing fetch next to the park. I think the dog is a black lab. It is a nice dog. I don’t think there are any kids at the park. I haven’t seen any running around over there. I’m watching those guys play basketball and I still seem to think the two men talking trash to each other. It is an intense game over there. Both teams seem to be evenly matched. The soccer team is now scrimmaging. This one little boy is very good. He is dribbling through defenders and making all the goals for his team. The other team doesn’t seem to have a chance right now. Those two guys started pushing each other a second ago. Things are starting to heat up between them. The team had to separate them from guarding each other. I am guessing the game is close for tensions to be that high. It is a very competitive game as it seems. There is a lot of action here at the park today. I like it. The black lab seems to be getting tired from playing catch. They have been playing for a while now. A man and his son showed up and begun playing catch with a baseball and gloves. I remember when I used to be in that position playing catch with my dad. That brings back memories. Those two boys started pushing each other again and now the teams are having a scuffle. They are all talking trash now. One of the teams seems bitter because they were losing so badly. I think that’s causing some of the trouble as well. They sure are making a scene over there. Everyone here at the park is looking at them. Finally they get separated and I believe the game is over now because everyone is leaving now. The soccer team is still scrimmaging each other even though it is getting dark now. That little boy is destroying everyone still. Nobody can stop him. This kid is really good compared to all the other players. The boy and his dad are leaving now too. The Soccer team just got done and are beginning to leave.

Who won though?

This week I am stationed under this tree here at this park. I see the soccer team practicing once more. There are five kids playing at the park. There is a mom walking around the park pushing a stroller. And there is one little boy playing basketball by himself. I am debating joining him to pass some time. The soccer team I watch is very competitive during practice. They are always running and exercising more than most soccer teams. Today they are running every time the goalie blocks a shot. There goes another one taking off to go run. I bet they are a good soccer team. Oops a boy just fell off a swing and landed on his back. I think he is alright he just got up and is walking it off. A man has joined the boy playing basketball and they have begun to play a pickup game. A lot of different types of people come to this park. A guy riding his bike is doing tricks in the car parking lot. He is pretty good. He just jumped over the curb on one wheel. That was impressive. The mom and all her children are leaving. She has 6 kids with her. Geez. Cars start showing up in the parking lot for their kids. All the cars forced the biker to leave. The dad and his son playing basketball are currently in the middle of a close game from the looks of it. I guess both play or played basketball at some point in time. The boy can shoot. He has made three three’s in a row. The dad really just cannot believe it. It is starting to get dark here at the park. They really need more lights around here. The soccer team is finishing up practice. They ran so much today they all look drained. I remember those days. The dad and son are still playing even though its getting pretty dark. The dad isn’t going easy on his son anymore. They are really into their game. The soccer team has started to leave. And its now dark. The dad and son leave now. I would like to know who won their game.

Fight at Practice

Week three at the park. Today I am sitting close to the little soccer team practicing. They are always here which makes me happy because I would probably be bored without this soccer team to watch practice. There’s a few kids playing at the playground a little farther down. They seem to be having a blast playing tag. Oh my gosh. The funniest thing just happen ha ha. A boy on the soccer team was trash talking his teammate at practice and the other teammate was getting mad. The other teammate punched the kid that was talking trash in the face and the kid fell. Then whenever the coach saw that he started running and half way there he trips and falls face first in the dirt. I’m just about dying laughing at them. It definitely made my day. The coach finally got to the two boys and started to separate them. The coach made them start running while the rest of the boys went back to practicing. Meantime the kids at the playground made a new friend. A dog was out loose and running around. I’m not sure what type of dog that is but it isn’t the same type of dog from last week. There is a homeless man walking farther down the park. I think he is drunk the way he is acting. Thank goodness he isn’t on this side of the park. The kids at the playground decided to leave with that dog they were playing with. There’s a few cars in the parking lot. The soccer team is taking a break but the two boy that were involved in the fight are still running. The drunk homeless guy is sitting under a tree doing something. I’m just not sure what. The sun is starting to go down now. I get tired sitting so I have to get up and stretch some. The soccer coach calls the boys in that practice is over. The two running can finally stop. Harsh punishment running for 30 minutes straight. The team talks a little bit and they all start to leave. The drunk homeless guy looks like he fell asleep under that tree.

A person comes out with a flashlight calling "Smokey". I think he is looking for the dog those kids

were playing with. That is an interesting name for a dog.

Almost Rained On

I am back at the same park I was at last week. I am sitting at the other side of the park now to maybe get a better view of the people that come. It is a cloudy day today and looks as if it might rain later. The soccer team that I saw last week is here practicing again. There is a dog running loose interfering with their practice at the moment. I spot a jogger running laps around the park. I see four kids smoking a cigar in one of their trucks in the parking lot. A man just came for the dog running loose and now the dog is running away from the man. The man simply cannot catch the dog. A group of boys start playing basketball at the basketball court. It looks as if they are very good. The soccer team finished practice and it looks as if they are singing happy birthday to one of the players. Now they all are leaving with their parents. There is three people riding longboards around the park. They are going pretty fast down the road. Two more boys joined the basketball players in a pick-up game. There is 3 kids playing at the park playground with their parents watching them. The clouds are beginning to get dark. It looks like it’s going to rain soon. There is a boy riding a bike around the park doing tricks. He is pretty good actually. The parents made the kids stop playing and they are going home now. It is starting to get dark outside. The men playing basketball stopped playing and they are all leaving. The darker it gets the more the people start leaving.

Busy Park

I choose my location to take field notes to be a park. I chose this location because hopefully there will be many different types of people that come to the park at the same time I do. Hopefully there will be a lot of different activities as well.

            I’m observing the park and see many people here. There is a little kid’s soccer team practicing on one side of the park. A few of the parents are watching the kids practice. There is four boys on the swings. They seem to be swinging to see which one of them swings the highest. A girl and her dog just arrived at the far end of the park. They seem to be walking laps around the park. More parents have begun to show up because soccer practice is over. Most of the parents left once they got their child. Two kids from the soccer team ran to the playground. They started playing together. The four boys playing on the swings began walking home. A boy and his father arrived and began to play catch with a baseball and gloves. The girl walking her dog left. The parents of the two children that were playing soccer finally showed up for their kids. An old lady showed up and it looks like she is feeding the birds. The man and his son started another baseball drill, hitting off the tee. The old lady left after she was done feeding the birds. It is beginning to get dark. Most of the people that were here decided to leave once it got dark. A boy and girl walked to center of the park once everyone left and laid down in the grass. My guess is that they started star gazing. I'm glad I chose this park for my location.
