Cases, Books, and Up to No Good.

It is 10 minutes past 1:00 in the afternoon as I sit down after I get my coffee. The song "Get Lucky" by Daft Punk is playing softly in the background as I focus on a man and a woman sitting in front of me.

The man and the woman sit across from each other at a table for two, the man is wearing brown cowboy boots, jeans and a grey and white striped hoodie. The woman he is sitting with is attempting to make conversation with him as she takes his smoothie and drinks it, however he is not very interested in the conversation and is playing on a tablet while making quick remarks to her.

A small group of four women are at the table to my left. They all have different drinks in front of them and only one of those drinks is coffee. The women are doing a bible study out of the same book and their bibles they are all discussing how one of the women was very tired last week and had a hard time concentrating on the discussion they were having.

A man to my right in a faded green long sleeves shirt and jeans just sat down with a massive silver case in front of him. He has a huge red book on the table as well as the case and a laptop. A book in the case has the title of "The gift of Atticus." A younger looking man with short black hair, earnings and a black sweater with the numbers 86 on it has gone up to the man with the case twice, and each time he is sent away.

There are two men to my right as well who are going over an assignment they have to do in their class. One of the men, the one who has shaggy blonde hair and tattoos all up and down his arms has a computer on the table and keeps asking his friend next to him if what they are going over makes sense.

Two older gentlemen shake hands at a table directly in front of me. The man standing up has glasses and asks his friend sitting down "what are you up too?" To which the man sitting down replies "oh, I'm up to no good" and has a big smile on his face. They both laugh and start talking  about 18 year olds who are brand new to college and don't know how to live on there own.

After 30 minutes of talking the girls who are doing the bible study finally get to reading and discussing Matthew chapter 4.

I check the time on my phone and realize that if I stay any longer people might start looking at me funny and realize that I am observing them. I make my way to the front of the cafe to throw away my now empty coffee cup and walk out the front door.
