Is it Time for Lunch?

The place is crowded as usual but not with groups, but with individuals. There was a group of three in front of me as I sat in my usual spot; a guy in a blue shirt, a girl in a black jacket and a girl in a dark blue shirt with “Seattle” written across it. Black and Blue were both doing their chemistry lab. They started to discuss the lab together and started to look over the chemistry notes that they took in class. Seattle comes back with coffee and puts down her phone and leaves again. She probably went to go get creamer and sugar for her coffee. As I look at the two doing chemistry, blue looks very confused as he has a blank stare looking at his paper, making no movement. Seattle starts talking to blue and he seemed a bit relieved since he doesn’t have to do his homework. The conversation began to die down and Seattle started to scroll through social media, and when she found something interesting she turned to black and showed her the phone. Black wasn’t really paying attention and it took her a few seconds to see the phone and even then she didn’t really seem to care. Blue took a sip of the monster that was sitting on the talking and starts talking to dark blue, which is when he stopped doing his homework. Even when the conversation didn’t go anywhere, he distracted himself from doing his homework.

I also noticed a girl sitting by herself. She was wearing a blue jacket and had blonde hair. It seemed as though it was her lunch break but something that caught my eye about her is that she was eating sushi with her fingers. She was also watching something on her phone and every time she finished a bite out of her sushi, she licked her fingers. She then changed her posture, so that her left hand was on her head, and she looked down on her phone. She started to look around before grabbing another piece. After she sticks that piece in her mouth she puts both her hands together then rubbed her hands on her pants. She finished her sushi, and began to stand up. She grabbed her bag and then left.

Finally there was a girl in a white t-shirt and a guy in a blue and green plaid shirt. They seemed to be on a lunch date. As white was talking plaid was listening to what she was saying because he would look at her. Plaid was saying something and white’s facial expression changed as if she was shocked to hear what he said as her eyebrows rose. The conversation then changed as white began to laugh and nod before taking a bite out of her bagel. Plaid was looking around but turned right back around as white started to talk. The conversation went back and forth, but when plaid was talking he was talking with big gestures around his head. White begins to laugh and takes a sip of her coffee and another bite of her bagel. But before she finished chewing she began to talk to Plaid. Her facial expressions seemed a bit over the top as they seemed exaggerated. White begins to look around and then focuses her attention back on the conversation leading them to both putting their thumbs down. The conversation died down a bit then got picked up shortly after. White grabs her coffee and as she was about to take a sip of her coffee she stops and her jaw drops. When white finished her bagel, she started to pick at her teeth with her fingers, but both were still engaged in the conversation, laughing and talking as I left.
