Owls of Cruces

It's not the usual time I came here, it's late; 11:30 p.m. to be exact. My focus was on the people of the night, let the debauchery begin. The environment was dark, upbeat, and influenced. I sat by three young guy who seemed to be in their early twenties. They could be from NMSU as am I but they could be simply guys hanging out after work. Everyone was in groups and I seemed to be the only one that came as one. It didn't take long for someone to ask, "hey how's your night going?" Soon enough I was sitting in a group; laughing and enjoying myself. Pretty sure this is universal of asking the new guy questions; where you from, what brings you to Las Cruces, what are you majoring, how old are you? The list goes on but those are the typical questions. I had answered them all and got past that stage and felt more comfortable. This wasn't the typical group, they were discussing politics because of the resent democratic debate that happened. Everyone had something to share especially who they thought won the debate. It wasn't a heated discussion rather more sharing where everyone stands on the upcoming election. Everyone else here were laughing, drinking, and more drinking. They time goes by fast when your having a good time. It was about that time to head home.
