Back at the Cafe, I find myself here at a much later time than my first observation. There are certainly less vehicles and people here due to the hour of the day which is around 6pm. The weather is hot but the climate inside is comfortable. The stereo is playing "oldie hits" this time like "Super Freak".
Surprisingly, I have spotted the man in the suit again. This may confirm my hypothesis that he genuinely enjoys the ambiance of the Cafe and so he chooses this place in particular to read the news and sip a beverage. He appears to be wearing the same suite or a different version. Again he sits alone in the corner by himself and occasionally glances up to take a sip and look around the room.
A couple new customers walk in the door. They seem to be a couple. The both wear glasses and the male is dressed in a nurses outfit. Perhaps he just got out of class at the university. They have spent longer than usual at the order counter. Maybe they can't decide what they want. The female looks impatient so she slowly grooves to the 80's music playing on the stereo. Both flirt with each other periodically as they wait. They seem like a happy couple or good friends. Finally they order drinks and quickly exit through the door after the male returns from the bathroom.
I am sitting in the middle of the cafe this time and so to my left is a large table with three students sitting closely to each other with papers and laptops scattered across the table. From what they are saying it sounds like they are discussing biology which is my major, so I listen intently. I gather from a few sentences about diffusion that they are in a beginning biology class. Soon they switch topics to algebra as they talk about angles and the laws of trigonometry. I suspect from these two subjects they are either freshman or sophomores. However two of them look much older than their projected ages. Perhaps they are upper classmen just trying to fulfill the rest of their credits. Not too long into my observations they decide to call it a day. They hug and say their goodbyes as the barista comes over and cleans off the table (last week the barista had dreads and to my sadness he now has a shaved head with a small ponytail. Next time I plan to ask him why he cut them off).
By the end of my hour, I am left sitting in the revolutionary cafe almost alone. One of the older employees is mopping the floor but then goes back to the kitchen to take food to a customer who is still sitting outside. I wonder if they people who sit outside display different habits. I would assume that students would mainly like to come inside however so they can relieve themselves from the heat and work on school in comfort.
As I pack up my things, the gift shop employee counts the money in her drawer and begins to clean.
One more customer walks in and looks confused as she approaches the counter. She has dirty blonde hair in a pony tail and is tall/fit. Maybe she is an athlete since she is also wearing workout apparel. Waiting for her drink, she walks around the cafe aimlessly talking on her cell phone and soon decides to sit down. I begin to get up and walk out the door, we make momentary eye contact. She had lovely brown eyes that gazed at me for what seemed far longer than half a second.
