People take it seriously

For the second week of field notes I performed my observations at a football game. To accomplish this, I assisted to the Aggies vs. Georgia State game on Saturday September the twelve. This was conducted between times from 6:00 pm to around 9:40 more or less. During this four hours I observe how mad, angry and excited do people were just depending on players actions. It was amazing to experience this environment because I am not a fan, I do not even like football, I do not understand it, but I thought it would be a nice idea to conduct my observation here. To begin with, I was one of the first people to enter the stadium, then I came through the west, at the general section by the main entrance. I decide to sit at the very top, because it is still hot and here is shade. Meanwhile people is arriving to the stadium, players are practicing, and staff is all over the place. Obviously people are wearing their NMSU shirts, hats, bags, chairs, majority with school colors. It is funny how adults dress children the same way as they are dressing. Some children do not even know what is going on, and are just staring everywhere. Players are getting ready in the field, while staff are running everywhere trying to set everything ready for the game, they are wearing black pants and grey big shirts. There is security all over the place and concession people are already receiving clients. A plethora of people is heading to the west, where I am sitting because of this side there is more shade. Everyone are crowded in every section and they cannot access quickly because the staff members have to check their tickets and making sure they are going to the right place. The game is already starting, they are presenting the athletic directors, teams and people are clapping. Everything has already started, and at this time is when more people are coming into the stadium, everyone are buying food like crazy. By my side is an old big lady who is complaining with a staff member because she read that chairs were not allowed into the general section, and everybody is bringing their own chairs. The staff member seems to be worry, lost, confused, then someone came to help him and took his place but this lady is still complaining and even cussing to them, her husband just looks at her and do nothing about it but watch the game. After a while another staff person came and took to her, calm her down, but when I looked around and saw her face, she was still mad and now even cussing with his husband. Time passed, and aggies are losing by ten points. Each time Aggies score, people went insane about it, they clap, yell, laugh, and push each other. But when Georgia State was scoring, many of them were just cussing and were really offended about it. Every time there was a pause, people was standing going to buy nachos, hamburgers, beer overall. Then I notice how parents were annoyed by their children because they wanted to go to the restroom, wanted ice cream, or objects staff was selling for the game. It is already night, finally in the fourth quarter, and I am already bored and tired. At some point of the game they announced that around 27, 000 people were present in the stadium and it was just amazing because if this was right now, I cannot imagine how the one vs UTEP is going to be.Here is just four minutes and eight seconds, aggies are losing by two points, people is already leaving because they obviously assume that we are losing. And that is right. We lose by two points, and I just spend an entertain and different night here at this game.
