Mr. Man Bun

It is quieter for a Friday at D's Coffee. There is a table where a lone hippy looking man sits, sipping on a mug of chai and reading a book. He's looking pretty post-Vietnam blues with his big 80s glasses and long hair.

Across the way there is a table with an older lady, a younger looking lady and a middle aged looking Asian man. The two ladies are talking about South America, while the man sits on his laptop writing a Facebook post.

Behind this table there is a table with two college looking aged pair of young women who are studying diligently.

An older man walks in immediately beelining it for a yogurt the coffee shop sells. It's one of those brand name yogurts that you could probably get way cheaper at the grocery store. He immediately then runs to the bathroom with yogurt in hand. When he returns, yogurt open and half gone he goes to the back of the shop to put sugar and cream in his coffee and finish the rest of his yogurt.

The baristas banter behind the counter are laughing. I have ordered an Italian soda and have yet to receive it. What are they laughing about while they aren't making my Italian soda? Patience is not my forte.

The older lady departs from the table embracing the Asian man and placing a hand on the younger girls shoulder, loudly, and almost obnoxiously saying goodbye.

The barista then comes up with two Italian sodas, even though I ordered one. I must have shown some of my goodies or something to get free drinks. It's all about the goodies nowadays, yah feel?

It is getting louder as the two college girls discuss some social stuff in their lives. The rest of the shop is a dud and dull,

Then there is a new interest that catches my eye, Mr. Man Bun who sits in the corner of the shop with a full beard and is on his phone. He looks like a hipster. Total tumblr girl fantasy. He has a tattoo around his upper arm, though I cannot make out the shape. Thin and lanky like those hipsters who go to Coachella and pretend they know any band. So pretty much superficial. He is on the phone for the ten minutes I watch him.

After growing bored with Man Bun, I watch the Hippy get up and use the restroom. The college girls have disappeared behind textbooks. Asian man has left with the young lady, and the shop is quiet.

Man Bun, in all his dull, boring glory finally goes up and orders a plain coffee. For all the hipster stereotype I labelled him, he is basic and not against the stream.

Hippy is joined by an older lady and young cowboy who take him out of the shop like its some ritual.

Man Bun sips his coffee and is taking a selfies as I pack up and leave the shop.
