PSL

It is time for my afternoon coffee. I sit down at a table, Justin Bieber's new song is playing in the background as I sip on my Frappuccino. When I entered the building it was quite loud, the machines groaning against the coffee beans inside of them, people chatting and four girls laughing hysterically.

Those same girls are sitting across from me, when I passed them to go and sit down after grabbing my coffee I saw that they were playing the card game Apples to Apples. Three out of the four girls are wearing cowboy boots which leads me to believe that they like things that have to do with Country. All four of them are engaged in the game and laugh with each other.

There are 5 other people, including myself who are alone doing some type of work at a table.

The two men behind me are having a conversation on why it is nice to have a hot drink today, since it is raining, though the blond haired boy with glasses is having a cold smoothie, he says "I really regret getting a smoothie! I don't know why I didn't get something hot!" He pauses and takes a drink of his smoothie, his face scrunches up and he yells "BRAIN FREEZE!" And puts his hands to his temples while his friend laughs at him. After the brain freeze the blond with glasses starts a conversation on how he keeps his room clean and what days he does laundry, his friend who has short brown hair also talks about how he keeps his room clean and what products he really likes to use.

Three girls all walked in together, each of the girls are wearing matching blue shirts with a sorority logo on them. They all walk up to the counter and order PSL's (Pumpkin Spice Lattes) in anticipation for the upcoming fall season. All three of them stand together in a line trying to keep the conversation going but are having a hard time since they are all on their cell phones simultaneously texting other people.

There is one person I recognize from my last visit to the coffee shop, she is an elderly woman with short white hair. The last time I was here she was alone, however this time she is accompanied by her husband. They both order hot teas and wait for their order to be ready, the barista calls their names and the husband grabs both of them and they go sit together at a table.

Noticing the rain coming down harder outside I decide to get up. I grab my things and head back to my dorm in a quick manner so I do not get soaking wet by the downpour.
