The Farmer's Market

Today is Saturday morning, and that means I am headed one of my favorite spots to kill time. Of course I am talking about the Farmer’s Market on Main Street here in town. I love going to the Farmer’s Market because there is so much going on. There are venders everywhere selling just about anything related to arts and crafts. There are people who sell art, handmade walking sticks, and even custom bottles to burn incense, just to name a few. Most importantly, there is delicious food around every corner.
I arrive at the Farmer’s Market at around 11 am. Just in time for lunch. As I make my way through the diverse crowd of people, I can’t help but notice how most of the people here have a certain quirk. Most of the people here are the type of people I would describe as “artsy.”
On a recommendation, I decide to eat at a food truck called Luchador. This is an awesome food truck sells Mexican street food. The truck itself is interesting. It is a very old looking truck decorated with Mexican wrestlers, or “luchadores.” In the window there is a Hispanic woman, probably in her mid-30’s, who takes my order. She is wearing an interesting t-shirt with a Mexican wrestling mask sewn on. She looks surprisingly presentable, something I didn’t expect for someone working with food. Her hair is done nicely as is her make up. She is very charismatic and bubbly. We exchange small talk while my food is being prepared. Finally, she hands me my tacos, and with her thick accent she says “be careful, the salsa is really spicy.”
I find a bench to sit and eat my steak tacos. While I eat, I watch people go by. A young couple catches my eyes and I begin observing them. They are also getting something to eat. These two are those “artsy type.” The girl, who I will call Lana, is black. She is in her mid-20’s. She has curly hair, half of which is dyed blonde. The back side of her head, her hair is shaved, like a taper fade. She has an interesting tattoo in the back of her head and neck. Her arms are also covered in ink. She also has many piercings she has a nose ring, as well as a septum piercing. She is dressed in all black.
Her boyfriend, let’s call him Sage, is also in his mid-20’s. He is a pale, thin white guy with long black hair. He dresses like a skater. He has a tattoo sleeve and a nose ring. He is dressed like a skater with tight jeans and a big white t-shirt. He is wearing a pair of worn out Vans. He also has shoe laces tied up around his waist as a belt, typical of a skater.
