Don't Drink and Drive

I approach the plaza and I can already feel the pesky mosquitos bump on my face. From a distance I can see a middle aged Hispanic couple slow dancing to the music being played at the café at the corner. The music is really calm. There's no live music at the café today but it is full of people anyways. I can hear chattering and laughing going on in the café. I sit down on my bench and watch an elderly woman, Mrs. Jones,  read the historical marker in the plaza. A man approaches her from behind and asks her what she is looking at. He appears to be her husband. He also reads the historical marker. Mrs. Jones turns to look at the gazebo and she points at the image of the Mexican and American flags crossed together with the number 52 under it. She asks her husband “I wonder what the 54 stands for”. Her husband ignores her and continues to read the historical marker. My attention is taken away quickly by a seemingly young couple across the plaza in front of a small café. The girl seems visibly angry and she is arguing with her boyfriend. They are arguing pretty quietly probably since the plaza is really calm. After about 2 minutes of arguing, the woman walks away visibly infuriated and gets into her car. The guy gets on the phone and begins walking slowly to the parking lot by the café. I loose sight of him once he walks past the café. Behind me I see a cop car flash its lights and follow a car that passed the plaza not too long ago.
I decide to get up from my bench and walk around the plaza. I walk on the sidewalk and peek into the different buildings. Inside a small cantina called “The Space” I see a bartender and just a single customer laughing and laughing. It made me laugh just listening. I pass a jewelry store and there is no customers, just the shop owner who looks visibly bored just fiddling on her phone. Out of the corner a woman about the age of 50 appears with a big fluffy dog. The dog comes towards me and begins sniffing me. The woman apologizes to me and I tell her it’s fine and that I really like dogs. She asked me if I had any dogs and then we had a small chat about dogs. I wished a her a good evening and then I continued my walk around the plaza. I passed the small café where the couple was arguing and saw many people sitting doing their own thing. Some were on their phone, some were just sitting there with their partners, and even one couple was reading books. After walking around the whole plaza I reached my car, crossed myself in respect to the church and left the serene plaza with minimal mosquito bites. On the way out of the plaza area I saw a cop performing a sobriety test on a young male driver. Shouldn't have been drinking a driving, shame on him.
