Anniversary Bash

It has been a long week and that sentiment seems to be reflected in the neighborhood. Saturday has rolled to a close and the neighbors are pulling out the chairs. There are mixed feelings as they all start to sit together. Some sigh heavily while others are all smiles and laughter. They are celebrating an anniversary and the entire neighborhood was invited out.

A hunched old woman is quietly sipping on her drink and watching the young kids with a slight glare. I am not sure what she is thinking but it is clear that she disapproves of something. Not many people approach her. The happy couple is walking around and handing drinks out or refilling cups. Seems they are working the party rather than being the celebrations highlights.

Time has passed and the noise level is high. People are getting drunker but everyone seems to be in a good mood. Not the hunched old woman, though. I don't think she really wants to be there. She frowns at anyone who attempts to talk to her. Near her, a young couple are holding each other as they dance. They seem to be her glaring target. The young man leans in to kiss his girl. They are having a good night.

The hunched old lady has lost her mind! As soon as the man kisses his girlfriend, she begins yelling at them. The mood has definitely taken a turn for the worst! She is being very vocal about what she thinks of an interracial couple. The young woman's friends are trying to get involved. Seems like everyone is willing to jump to their defense. This is the most awkward thing that I have ever seen. I feel like I need to step inside before this gets any worse.

Until Next week!
