Chain Smokers

I don't know what it is about peoples obsession with cigarettes, but it is an issue.

As people entered the venue, it began to steady become full. If you were to look back, it was a sea of people.

A random band from Albuquerque came on stage, very positive but their music wasn't very great. People were being very rude around me, making fun of them or being obnoxiously loud.

This group of people next to me, was ridiculously drunk, elbowing anyone who accidentally got in their way. The security guards had to keep reminding them to settle down or they would be kicked out, and possibly arrested for public intoxication.

After what seemed hours of waiting, Modest Mouse finally came out, and it was like everyone had pre planned to light up a blunt while they played. The smell of marijuana was overwhelming ( it was a closed venue) and instantly security went crazy. Using their flashlights trying to find the "delinquents" who were smoking.

After that weed fiasco, it was like everyone switched to cigarettes - I didn't know which one was worse at that point. The man next to me, was so set on smoking a cigarette, that he made his friends cover him while he crouched down to smoke. I was flabbergasted by the audacity this man had. A great band was playing live, only a few feet away from us, and he decided to turn his back and crouch down to smoke. That's a real addiction. After his little smoking break, he got up and started heavily drinking.

Thankfully there was considerate men and women there who were much taller than me, and got in between me and the drunks so i wouldn't get hurt.
