Sunset Study Sesh

Wednesday October 15
6:27pm I walk into the café and order pumpkin bread (tis the season for everything pumpkin). My roommate is with me so I pay for her coffee as well, (best roomie award?) The two baristas behind the counter are ones I’ve never seen before. One girl with dark hair tied up in a bun. Her name tag reads ‘Gaby’. The other barista is male at least 5 years older than Gaby and much more talkative. On his head he wears a cap. I didn’t catch his name. However he does comment on the fact that I got something pumpkin and now he is vary anti-pumpkin anything.

6:33 My roommate and I sit down at one end of the large conference table. At the other end sits a woman, maybe early 20s reading a text on her MAC book. They have rearranged the café in the last 3 days. All the tall tables are now in front next to the door and all the comfy arm chairs sit next to the tall windows in the back.

6:40 a group of three walks in the door together. One boy two girls. Each have dark hair and dark skin, Mexican maybe. One girl wears an NMSU sweatshirt, she sits at one of the tall tables and immediately pulls out her phone while the other two walk over to the shelves and look at the selection of coffee. I can hear the two talking and arguing about what type of coffee to buy their mother for her birthday. After a couple minutes of discussion the sister wins the argument with a light blond roast. She goes to the counter pays for the coffee beans and orders a cup for herself at the same time. As Gaby calls out ‘tall mocha’ the sister retrieves her drink and the three walk out together.

6:45 a tall slender beautiful girl walks in through the front door. She wears a crimson quarter zip with white AGGIES down the arm. She has her dark red mesmerizing hair in a wet bun at the top of her head. Around her head she wears a gray crochet ear warmer that brings out the green in her eyes. Oh my look at that it’s my beautiful teammate Cassandra! She sits at the large table with my roommate and I (the woman from before who was sitting where Cassandra is now has long since moved to a comfy chair).

6:55 After a quick greeting and a smile Cassandra pulls out her MAC and starts diligently on her work. The feel in the café on this Wednesday evening is not much different from my normal afternoon evening session on Sundays. The darker it gets outside, however, the more people seems to crowd into the café. Many sitting down with their own laptops and not cards to study or do work.

6:59 MALE: 6
