Disgusting Behavior

When I walked into the establishment I was prompted to have a seat because that there was a short wait. I was quite disappointed for they weren't even busy. When I sat down I noticed another group of two guys sitting down waiting as well. As I was getting up to leave a rather small woman, my waiter, approached me and asked if I would like a table or a booth. Once I sat down I noticed the two guys that were waiting with me finally got seated. I wondered to myself as to why I was seated first even though they were here before me, and then another guy came out of the restroom and sat with them, so I figured that they were just waiting in the front for their other friend to arrive.

Once my waitress took my order and left I began to look around only to notice that a family of Mexican Americans, the group of guys that were waiting before me and myself occupied the dining area. The family of Mexican Americans specifically caught my attention so I will focus on them for now. There are five of them; a woman, two men, and two children. The woman, I’m assuming the mother of the children seemed as if she was rather oblivious as to what her children were doing. I find that rather annoying as I cannot stand parents that do not pay attention to their children and make them behave. The two men seemed like they are brothers as they looked rather similar to each other. I’m also going to assume that one of them is the father of the children as one of them walked in carrying one of the children in their arms. The children, one boy and one girl, were about two years apart. The boy looked about two years of age and the girl looked as if she was about 7- 10 months old as she could already sit-up on her own. As time carried on and I continued to observe them, I noticed that every single one of them had ordered water to drink. Which I found quite astonishing and wondered if maybe they are on a budget or if they are simply trying to be healthy. I figured that it was most likely due to the fact that were probably on budget considering that all of them, especially the woman were obese. Again, some time passed before any of their actions caught my attention, I noticed that the mother was engulfed by her phone and that the brothers were engaged in deep conversation with one another. Meantime, the little boy would not stay in his seat and simply just kept running around their table getting in the way of waiters and other customers. He then approached his sister and grabbed her by the head with a hand on each side and began to violently shake her. I was alarmed by his actions and even more enraged due to the fact that no one at the table was noticing what was going on. I began to think to myself if whether or not I should get up and inform their parents of what was going on, as I know that such actions to an infant can be harmful to development. Finally, relief, the mother noticed what was going on and scolded the boy for his actions, but as she turned away he began to shake her again. About 10 seconds passed before the mother noticed that he had resumed his awful actions. The mother then pushed the boy away and instructed him to sit down, but he refused. The boys’ father then rose from his seat to pull him away from his sister, but as he was doing so, they boy began to punch his sister in the abdomen until she was no longer in his reach. I couldn't help but think to myself of what horrible actions this boy was performing. I began to wonder to myself if serial killers or similar criminals as such acted as so when they were children.
