This week of field work was a bit different because I did
not take notes while I was at work I actually sat in the dining room and
watched people socialize in the restaurant. Two people that stood out the most
were a group of two coworkers. I could tell that they were coworkers because
they were still in their dollar tree uniform. They were also very loud and
would not stop giggling. The man was very loud and would giggle a lot in a very
high pitched voice. The woman kept talking about the crazy adventure that they
had the night before. They kept on yelling and giggling and at one point they
got a phone call and put the phone on speaker and started talking to a third
person. Their talk’s main topic was about their inebriation and how they were
going to dress up as princesses for Halloween. Some of the other people who
were trying to buy food kept on looking at them with faces that said shut up
but none of the people actually told them anything. When they finally got their
food I noticed that they had bad manners. Both of them continued to talk and
laugh loudly while chewing their food it was not a good sight. Multiple times
food came out of their mouth and they would only laugh harder at each other.
When they finally finished eating they picked up some of their trash but left
many crumbs on the table, chairs, and on the carpet. When the employee who was
assigned to clean the dining room saw that are she was extremely mad.
That night there was another man who had really bad manners.
The man walks up to the register looks at the menu for about a minute then says
they have no good food. As he walked away the man blew his nose into a tissue,
when he was done blowing his nose he shot the used tissue paper into a trash
can but missed. He then looked around to see if anyone had seen him and simply
walked away without picking up his trash. I then told the employee what the man
had done and she said some bad words about the rude man.
After doing field work in this restaurant I have realized
that there are some really disgusting people who do not know how to clean up
after themselves.
