I arrived that the card shop on Saturday October, 25th, 2014 at around 2:30. Things were a bit different however when I left my car I noticed a couple of people standing outside the door in Halloween costumes. They said that they were watching the door because a lot of people were showing up to the card. The man who was telling me this was the blonde haired employee who is usually behind the counter. He was wearing a skeleton costume with a hockey stick.
When I walked inside the shop, the first thing I noticed was that all the employees were working today, and they were dressed in Halloween costumes. The woman employee was dressed as Freddy Krueger, and the manager, was dressed as Thor. Another thing I notice was that there was a lot of customers and they were all dressed in costume, I immediately felt out of place.
I continued my way past the people toward the back room where all the card tournaments were held, and it was clear that all tournaments were canceled today, because there was even more people here in costume. I noticed that there were several of desks together with judges asking people questions and so on, and it was clear to me that they were hosting some kind of costume contest. I couldn't find any regulars or even anyone I recognize during all of this.
A few minutes later they started to announce the winners. 3rd place was these two small children and their costume was conjoined twins. They shared a large shirt and pants together and they had to synchronize their steps without falling. 2nd place was a teenage girl who cosplayed as Lulu from league of legends. She had the large purple witch hat, the purple clothes, the staff, and even the Pixie. 1st place was a small boy who dressed up as ghost rider. His hair was wavy and imitated fire and he had the leather suit and the skull mask.
My time at the card shop was cut short because they closed the shop early. They said that they were going to the zombie walk to participate. I wonder if they would host anymore contests in the future.
