The Playground

The weather was perfect this morning, so I decided to sit outside the coffee shop. Across the street at the park I saw a bunch of little kids running around and playing in the playground, a little girl caught my eye because of how adorable she looked. By what I saw she, Blue, was scared about going down the slide, I tried to look around to see if Blue was there with any of the other little kids but it looked like she was there by herself. She kept running around and after a couple of minutes she went to the swings, she sat there for about five minutes and those entire five minutes I didn’t see her look anywhere else other than the slide that was near her. I started to wonder if that was her first time being at a play ground or if she was just that scared to go down the slide by herself.

After a couple of minutes Blue goes up the stairs and starts to walk around the play ground, all the other kids were running around and playing with each other. She then stood by the slide, just staring at all the little kids that would go down the slide. About five minutes pass by and she’s still staring, then a little kid goes up to her and she quickly stepped back and nodded; the little boy then walks away and goes down the slide. At this point I am assuming that she was really that scared about going down the slide.

Blue started to walk around the play ground for a couple of minutes, she then walks down the stairs and goes back to the swings. While sitting there a man approached her, he kneeled down and took her hand, while he was talking Blue was just nodding. He, Dad, then picked her up and carried her toward the slide, they stood in front of it for about a minute or two then they began to walk around it. Blue then hugged him and ran towards the slide, she then stood in front of it holding on to the bars next to it, Dad kneeled down at the bottom of the slide and began to make signs for her to come down. Blue was just standing there; she just couldn’t go down the slide. Dad walks up to the side of the slide by where Blue was at and took her hand, she just smiled back at him. Dad then went back to the bottom of the slide and started to make signs for Blue to go down again, Blue then decides to let go and goes down the slide and she was approaching Dads arms all I saw was a big smile on both of their faces. As soon as Blue got to the bottom of the slide Dad just picked her up and kissed her, they both began to laugh together. After that Blue had no problem in going down that slide, or any of the other ones that were there.
