Zoo trip

Deciding to go on another adventure this weekend, I ventured back to El Paso to go to the zoo.  I thought this would be a good opportunity to take  care of my field work as I was surrounded by a ton of people.  The zoo was having a Halloween party which was supposed to be bring an even bigger crowd that day.
When I first arrived, it appeared a lot of people were getting ready to leave for the day.  It was later in the afternoon, not a cloud in sight, so the heat was beating down on everyone.  This was obvious in the sluggishness and quieter atmosphere of the zoo despite the number of people.
Since it was the Halloween party for the zoo, all of the children were dressed up and were trick or treating.  The most common costume among the young boys was either Iron Man, Captain America, or Spider-Man.  This reflects  the different movies and television shows that have been popular around our country over the past  few years.  The girls costume was way more obvious as to what the most popular costume were.  As soon as I walked into the zoo, I had one thought, “Flo, Flo everywhere”,  the majority of young girls that were at the zoo were dressed like Flo from the progressive insurance commercials.  The next popular costume was Elsa from the popular Disney movie that came out last year, Frozen.
As I was making my way around the zoo, I came across the Tiger exhibit.  There was a Hispanic family consisting of about 10 children and three women.  It was hard to tell which kid belonged to which women, besides the one woman that was holding her young child.  These kids were running back and forth between the tiger and the sun near exhibits.  Both animals were pacing back and forth just like the children, all ranging from ages 5-11, which an average of 8 were.  Eventually the tiger started to jump at the glass that the children were looking at it through.  Whenever it jumped up, the tiger would show its teeth, prompting what appeared to be the three children all underneath the age of 6 to let out a terrifying shriek.  I think the tiger began to enjoy being so scary, and continued to attack the glass, to the nonstop screaming of the children.   I overheard a young girl, who I shall refer to as “Unibrow” due to the unibrow that she was drawn in on her eyebrows with a sharpie; she was talking about how the “Tiger is kind of the jungle”,  and was talking about how the tiger had its own Disney movie with a warthog and merekat .  I may just have been misunderstanding, but I believe that she was telling her young cousins about the lion king.
