Have a Nice Weekend

Its Friday afternoon at the duck pond and its that time when people are getting out of work and students are returning to the dorms ready for the weekend. Sitting on a table is a student, Nathan, who appears to be doing homework. He has books and a bag with food on the table and a backpack on the floor next to him. He appears to be tired or taking a break and has his arms crossed on the table with his head down resting on his arms, prevent me from seeing his face.

Off to the side is the same girl from last week, Nancy, sitting on the same bench. Again she is on her phone the whole time. Soon she lies down using the bench as a bed with her hands above her face staring at her phone.

There are two men, Oscar and Parker, fishing on the side of the water. Parker keeps staring in my direction and I wonder if he is staring at me wondering what I’m doing. Oscar stands up and leaves for a few minutes, I don’t see where he goes but I’m assuming to the restroom. While he is gone Parker lights a cigarette and constantly continues to smoke for long periods of time.

Over by the bridge there is a group of four people sitting in the grass under the shade. There are two men, one woman, and a little girl who is maybe 5 years old. One of the men is fishing and the others appear to be keeping him company.

It has been about half and hour and Nathan still appears to be asleep on the table, as I haven’t seen him lift his head once.

I notice two women on the bridge talking to each other. They are both wearing crimson color aggie shirts. I believe they might be employees of the university that just got out of work. They stay and chat for a few minutes and each head separate ways.

I see a truck with canoes pull up and quickly recognize Joe from a few weeks ago. This time he is accompanies by two other men, Roger and Seth. They exit their vehicle and first approach the water and look around for a good place to put the canoes in. They find a spot and are soon bringing in their canoes, it takes two people to carry it and one to help direct them which way to go. They take a seat on the side and appear to be waiting for someone else to show up before they start riding. I assume this person is either in charge or has an important piece of equipment. By the time I leave the other person isn’t here yet and I don’t get to see them go in the water.
