Loner Bench Redeem

To start the observation off, I decided to sit at a different place than my routine spot. The perspective I wanted was from the view of the “loner bench”. The loner bench is located under a tree and gives you a nice view of the plaza, a popular place for loners to sit. The key word in the above stated sentence was ‘wanted’. Due to the time of the day, that spot was taken. The good spots, spots that had a clear view of the plaza, were all taken so I opted for the steps.

The sun shines intently on Las Cruces. Few clouds are out in the beautiful blue sky. Temperatures are not turning down for what. The restless leaves sing with the breezes that pass by, blowing girl’s hair all over the place. The bustling of mid-day traffic engulfs the silence.

Oddly enough a group beat me to the loner bench. Three young students occupy the bench and conversant about their medical midterms. I presume they are in the medical field due to their blue scrubs they are wearing.

Another student wearing a khaki colored shorts and a black shirt sits at a table on the west corner of the plaza. Khaki Man has his laptop out and his headphones on. Another poor soul absorbed in the technological world.

Miss Flower and Miss Bright walk to the right of the building. They are conversing very easily. We can presume they have known each other for a while and are friends. It was a sigh to see Miss Flower was holding a water bottle in her hand. A water bottle is a rare sight on campus. Most students usually get their drinks to go from one of the many food chains on campus. The pair disappears into the depths of the door.

Three different groups are sitting outside the restaurant, braving the wrath of the sun. Pink Backpack Group consist of two girls, Shorts Short Girl and Purple Lady. Color Group is made up of two girls, The Blond and The Brunette. Both parties are munching down and talking. Three Way contains two girls and a guy, Shade Girl, Tree Girl & Tank Dude. The group is not munching down but talking about their classes.

Dress Beige sits at a table in front of me, protected by the shade of the trees. Her book and notebook are spread out on the table, indicating she is studying. Dress Beige is only alone for a few minutes until Plaid Man joins her. They seem to be friend by their easy going attitude.

Due to the exposure of the sun, Three Way leaves.

Basing The Ball sits at the edge. She begins to read a book. Her backpack and coffee sit next to her, waiting patiently for her. The Unprofessional Pair sits at the opposite edge from Basing The Ball. The Unprofessional Pair consist of a professor in his late sixties and a student wearing a black t-shirt. Black is a popular color among students even though it absorbs more light than other colors.
