Meal Time Activities

This week was busier previous visits and I had a bit of trouble getting information on everyone at the Bistro.  This time I chose to sit at one of the outside tables rather than inside during my time there although I could see everyone inside as well.  There were not many groups with only three groups of three but there were 20 individuals and couples I was able to get information on. There were many more going through the area but I couldn't write fast enough to keep up and most of my attention was on the people that stuck around for more than a few minutes.

The first group of three were females that were grouped around a laptop watching a video.  They didn't really look like they were studying because they only had the laptop on the table with their food.  Most of their attention was fixed on the computer and they rarely had any kind of conversation and didn't check their phones until they were done watching and were packing up to leave.  They were each dressed somewhat differently with one having a t-shirt and yoga pants, another wearing shorts and a tank top, and the last in jeans and a t-shirt and all three had backpacks with them.  When they left, yoga pants went one direction and the other two left together going the opposite direction.

The second group of three were two females and one male that were quietly studying with notebooks and paperwork all over the table.  They spent the entire time writing in their notebooks and only conversed with each other if one had a question.  They were all dressed in pants, one female
and the male were wearing khakis and the other female was wearing jeans.  The male had a long-sleeved dress shirt on with the sleeves partway rolled up and the first female with jeans had a t-shirt on and the other was some kind of dressy sleeveless blouse shirt thing.  As far as I could tell they only stopped and talked to each other once and they never checked their phones and were there before I got there and were still there when I left.

The third group of three were males and they were also studying but there was a lot more interaction between them.  They were all using their phones most of the time they were there but it looked like they were using them to look things up rather than talking or texting on them.  They all had t-shirts on and two were wearing jeans and the other had shorts on.  They showed up around 20 minutes after I did and were still there when I left.

There were seven couples that stopped to eat during my time there.  The first couple was already there when I arrived and were finishing up their meal and getting packed up to leave.  They were both wearing shorts and t-shirts and the male had a baseball cap on.  I didn't notice if either one of them checked their phones before they left.  The second couple and third couples were also there when
I got there and were quietly talking while they ate.  The second couple was a female with athletic shorts and a tank top and a male in basketball shorts and a t-shirt and both had backpacks with them.  As they left the female got a phone call and was talking while they were leaving the area.  For the third couple, the male was dressed in jeans and a button-down shirt and the female had jeans and a t-shirt on.  The fourth couple arrived about 15 min after I got there and both were on their phones.  After they got their food, they also got out notebooks and started studying while they were eating and were still working when I left later.

The fifth couple couple arrived about 35 or 40 minutes into my time there.  Both were wearing shorts and the male had a t-shirt on while the female had a tank top and a hoodie on.  They sat down and started talking quietly at first but after a while they looked like they were having an arguement and they both looked uncomfortable.  They were only there for about 20 minutes and left at around the same time I did.  The sixth and seventh couples got there at the same time which was about 15 minutes before I left.  The sixth couple sat down after they got their food and looked like they were both just using their phones and not talking to each other much.  The male was wearing khakis and a t-shirt and the female was wearing shorts and one of those sheer blouse tank top things (I have no idea what the name of it is).  The male of the seventh couple was wearing atlethic shorts and a t-shirt and the female was wearing shorts and a tank top.  They talked some but the female spent most of her time on the phone and the male never took his headphones out.

Of the six people by themselves, five were female and they all looked like they were studying.  The male had on jeans and a t-shirt and had his laptop out along with a notebook and some paperwork.  The first female had a notebook out and was primarily on her phone although she did write several things down on the notebook.  She had on shorts and a t-shirt and she left about 30 minutes after I got there.  The second female had on yoga pants and a t-shirt and had her tablet out.  She seemed to be paying way more attention to the tablet than her food and was nearly continuously typing on it the whole time I was there.  The third female had several papers, a book and a notebook on the table with her food and it looked like she was doing math because she had a calculator out.  She was also on her phone a large portion of the time.  She was wearing shorts and a t-shirt also.  The fourth female had on jeans and a t-shirt and was writing in a notebook with a book in front of her.  She also had
a laptop but it was closed and just sitting on the table next to the book.  She got up and left about 20 minutes before I did.  The last female had athletic shorts on and a t-shirt.  She spent most of her time there on her phone although she had some paperwork on the table.  She left around 15 minutes after I got there and at about the same time one of the couples was showing up.
