This past weekend there was a sci-fi convention that the toy
store went to. This mean that they toy store would be closed. I went to the
sci-fi convention with a few people from the toy store to see them interact in
a different place, but with the same kind of people there are at the toy store.
The people I went with were Star Lord and Guy. Mr. Piccolo was also there, but
he was working at the booth for the toy store.
Star Lord and Guy interacted in the same way as they would
do if they were at the toy store. They asked each other how their week has
been, and would complain if something bad went wrong for them. They also talked
about the possibility of the store closing, but the subject was soon quickly
changed to what was at the sci-fi convention. The two guys walked around, looking
at the different booths, and saying hello to people that they knew.
The people seen at the convention are like the people you
would run into at the toy store. The only difference is that a lot of the
people are dressed up in costume, which is called cosplaying. The two guys I
was with did not cosplay, but they admire the cosplayers work and compliment
them if they saw one that they thought was well done or was a character that
they liked. There were also some of the more famous cosplayers there. The guys
talked to one of the more famous cosplayers because they have meet her before,
and they also talked to another one because of the Chun-Li costume she was
wearing.
There is a certain set up to the sci-fi convention. One
row consists of artists who sell their work. This is typically called artist
alley. The next couple rows have booths from different stores and people who
also wish to sell things from their stores or things that they have made.
Finally, there is a section for playing board games and video games. The two
guys mainly stayed in artist alley and the booths from the stores. They seemed
to be more interested in buying things or looking at the merchandise rather
than playing games with strangers. The booths that the two guys mostly stayed at
were the anime booths.
After the guys had walked around the convention a few times,
they went back to the toy store booth to talk with Mr. Piccolo. The three talk
about their normal subjects, except the owner of the toy store is here. This
means that the three guys are unable to complain about the toy store. They also
talk about the convention and the different featured guests that are here. Star
Lord asks how the toy store has been doing, and Mr. Piccolo responds saying
that they have been doing really well with sales for today. Star Lord seems
surprised because normally people do not buy a lot of things from the toys
store. Perhaps being at a convention is different because people who normally
do not go to the toy store are able to see their merchandise.
