White Collar Gym Rats

For this weeks field notes i went to my usual gym but instead of going to the gym in the afternoon i went in the morning. When i went to the gym at 6 in the morning i did not expect there to be as many people as there were. People actually get up really early to go to the gym which is good to see. A majority of these folks were older like 30-60 years old and even some of them looked older than that. I am assuming these people go to the gym early because they have a job and would probably not have any time to go later one in the day. Now the workouts that these early morning people were doing seemed to be a lot different than the workouts people do later on in the day. This may be because they have a job they are not looking to get "swole" as some of the gym rats say. They most likely go to get a good toning workout or maybe just a light workout to help them stay fit and healthy. At this time there were a lot of people doing cardiovascular workouts, some of them actually go to the gym twice a day. I have seen a few  people who do cardio in the morning and a good workout in the afternoon. There were a few college students and even high schoolers who go to get a workout before class. I noticed the difference in workouts between the ages right as i got there to get my workout. The older people did light workouts and the younger ones did heavier workouts and full workouts. There were also some older and younger females there, not as many as the afternoon hours though. It seems like these ladies go in to do cardiovascular exercises and toning exercises more than the men do. It was different going in the morning to the gym and I did not expect there to be that many people. There were a lot but i was still able to get a great workout without having to wait for a bench or squat rack to open up.
