Good Service Great People

Its another Saturday night at work as I walk into the bar around 4 o'clock. As I clock in and do my usual deeds that I do when I begin my shift I notice a guy walk into the bar by himself and sit at the bar. I ask him what he would like to drink and he asked for a 32 oz Bud light. I then gave him the beer and continued to finish what I needed  to do.

My next table walks in and it is a group of people. I go over and ask how they are doing this evening and what they wanted to drink. The table was a group of family and they usually come in every once in a while. The man always has the same drink, a long island ice tea. They were there to celebrate the mans 50th birthday. I then went back to get there drinks and then asked what they wanted to eat. Once they ordered their food I went to put in the order.

I went back to check on the man who was sitting by himself at the bar and asked if he needed anything else and he asked for another beer. So I gave it to him and he was in a good mood. He was a happy man even if he was by himself. He sat there enjoying his beer and watching the TV we have in the bar. He was such a nice person to talk to and have a great conversation with. He had a great sense of humor. That is what I like the most when working is having customers who have such a great sense of humor.

I get my next table and notice that they are regulars. They come in at least once a week. I walk up to them and they already know who I am so they begin to ask me how my week has been. I then ask them if they would like the usual that they always get and they replied "yes you know us to well". I went back to put their order in.

I walk over to the table that is celebrating the mans birthday and once they finished I went around to the other employees and asked them to help me sing for this mans birthday. We went over to the table and started singing happy birthday to him. The man was so embarrassed because he didn't want his family to tell me it was his birthday, but of course they had to tell me. They were so happy celebrating his birthday. The wife told the husband "Your finally the big 50 already!" and the husband replied "Just remember you are a year older than me and I will never catch up to you". The most funniest thing I had heard all day.

My night turned out to be great after having some people who had a great sense of humor. It makes the night go by faster and makes it a great night for me because I did not get any rude people.
