Sorority Meeting

In a coffee shop, you see a lot of characters. You also see a lot of odd behaviors. For todays example I saw a large group of sorority girls giggling over lattes. I will never understand how some girls can giggle that much over a story of how lets say "Brad" texted how cute they are. But beside the fact that they were giggling obnoxiously I really started questioning the "sisterhood" aspects of sororities. I was looking at this group of about 8 girls, clad in their greek letters, and from a distance they looked like the classic movie scene, talking laughing having the time of their lives, but when you looked closer you could see the tension. I would see a few of the girls roll their eyes when one of the others, lets call her Karen, would talk. Every time Karen contributed to the conversation these three girls would roll their eyes, or get a stink face and I'm pretty sure that's not what sisterhood is about. It is weird to think how girls can have grudges based on the smallest things and a girl will just not talk to you if she is mad, while on the other hand if two guys are mad they can just duke it out and call it good. Speaking of men and women there was one couple that was having a very important conversation in hushed tones. I couldn't hear a majority of what they were saying, but the body language indicated it wasnt a good conversation; however, they left holding hands. As it is finally October, the pumpkin everythings are finally warrented. Of course the drink of choice this hour was pumpkin lattes and frappes, followed by black coffee. The fact that most men chose black coffee while women choice the milk based drinks is still apearent. Do men just enjoy bitter coffee or don't want to be thought of as weak if they order a "frilly beverage?" Maybe next week I'll ask a man. This visit had few people but interesting things to watch. I'm looking forward to see the next few weeks.
