It surprises me that my field sight constantly has activity and events happening in it so often. Tonight I head out for another show. This time it'll be back in it's usually venue. Off I go.
The doors are open and folks are scattered around the parking lot in inside. The night is warmer than usually. I arrive on time as usual and stand in my favorite corner. I notice Nick and Cade are nowhere to be found. Who could possibly be promoting tonights event? I can already tell it's going to be a small show based off my observation of the little amount of people here.
I'm looking for whoever might be in charge of this show as the promoter tends to interact more with people. Suddenly I hear sort of a screeching sound as a toilet might make when it's flushed. Before long I see James, a promoter, backing out of the bathroom into the foyer watching as water soaks up the carpet. The plumbing issues have created an interrupting episode here at the venue. Those in need of relieving themselves now must seek a bush somewhere outside the venue.
James appears startled and makes his way up front to the microphone and makes an announcement. Hopefully show goers cooperate. To my right I over hear two young men mumble obscenities as they complain about the venues out of service facility. All in all, the show must go on. Heck, there's no toilet paper in the bathroom anyway.
Another small show for another small band playing. I walk across the venue to stand at a different angle and notice a calendar on the wall. It is current and there are some very special shows coming up. I see an increase in pricing for them too as these will be bigger line ups. Excitement settles in and I am looking forward to a bigger turn out in attendance and interaction in the weeks to come. I don't want to miss a thing.
