College Football

Ok so i work for the Aggie Athletic Marketing Team here on campus, basically my job is to run all the promotions at the game, I set up everything before the game and I tear down everything after the game. My job is extremely important to our primary sponsors and our secondary sponsors, and even for the fans because i help create an experience that they will remember. I have noticed a great many things about fans since I started working in sports with the El Paso Chihuahuas and even more since i started working here. This weekend I saw students go insane over a burrito, one of our promotions is a burrito giveaway basically i stand in front of the student section holding a burrito over my head and watching hungry college students lose their mind trying to get my attention. Doing this showed me two things, one, college students will degrade themselves for a little bit of free food, two, regular fans will degrade themselves tor a little bit of free food. This weekend we lost to Georgia southern, it was a good game but towards the end it became clear that we were going to lose and i started to see students leaving when there was still time for a comeback, then i saw season ticket holders leaving at the start of the 4th quarter! Then I realized how much apathetic our football fans are when it comes to our team, there were less than 600 people in the stands towards the end of the game and i realized that this isn't a good sign for the future. When i worked for the chihuahuas we could be down 6 runs in the 8th inning and people would still stay till the end of the game. This saturday I promised myself that by the end of my time at this school i will fix that problem.
