Fair Options

The lights from the carnival rides are flashing with bright colors here. This atmosphere is full of people walking from vendor to vendor trying to purchase either food or a souvenir. There is a scent of barbecue and funnel cakes in the air. Loud speakers inform the crowd of the activities that are in store for the fair. People of all types roam around these grounds, all of them exploring the options that are available.

I happen to notice a rather tall man walking alone. Long Hair has a turkey leg in his hand and a drink of some kind. The man eats his meal while he heads towards a t-shirt shop vendor. Long Hair observes the selection and decides on a gray shirt, he then pays the cashier and drifts into the crowd of occupants.

Two ladies approach an ice cream stand and negotiate what they want on the menu. They point out different items that look to interest them and finally settle with ice cream cones. The Duo pays and receives their ice cream but do not leave the stand. Instead they take a seat in the grass to enjoy the treat. The lines of people are getting longer as time goes on, making it difficult to order quickly. The Duo watches the crowd while they eat, then throw their trash and leave in another direction.

A group of younger children walk to the funnel cake stand. The Youngish Group waits in line and converses among each other. When it comes their turn to order they get four funnel cakes, pay, and depart the area heading towards the carnival rides.

My eyes catch an older woman walking with a dog on a leash. The lady is not carrying anything and does not stop at any vendors. Dog Walker passes the food stand and the fair rides, not looking interested in spending any money. She transitions to the lawn area and waits for a moment while she talks on her phone. When the phone call is finished she exits out the main entrance way.

The speakers now kick up with volume while the band starts to play their concert. A migration of individuals moves towards the dance floor and stage to watch the entertainment. The largest line now is the entrance to the beer garden, which has people for nearly fifty feat backed up.

Many of the food distributors begin to close down for the evening and the rides are being shut off as well. Anybody wanting some kind of last minute good has to get it rapidly on the way out due to the busyness of the surrounding populates. I get a sense that most of the people here really like this gathering and what it has to offer. While much of the crowd leaves out the exit to their vehicles, half if not more go to the concert.

It is mainly young adults that are at the stage and beer garden, a few older individuals are here but with what looks to be family. The sound of music becomes quite loud for some making them depart to another location.
