Saturday encounters

Yes people its worldwide love here once again with a Saturday night special for you. My good friend Wayne the waiter is at the register again and happy to see me. Wayne welcomes me back and I order a beef taco. As I was finding a spot to sit I noticed one guy in the far right corner of the building.

I sit at one of the tables directly in front of the counter. An older couple walks into the restaurant. They spoke in English and I could over hear them speaking about attending mass in the morning. They seem to be married as both wore wedding rings. The husband ordered two burritos and two coca cola drinks in pint bottles as the wife walks back to the car to retrieve something. When he finished ordering (still speaking in English), Wayne the waiter asked “solo eso senor?” which means “is that all Sir?” and the man replies “Si.”

Both senior citizens then sat at the table behind me and waited for their food. We’ll refer to this older couple as Jack and Jill from now on. Jack is a medium built Hispanic guy about 5 feet three inches with gray hair. He seems to be in his seventies if you ask me. His wife Jill seems to be of the same age, she’s of a clearer complexion than him with long curly black hair and has a birth mark on her forehead.

A baseball game was showing on the television. It wasn’t of much interest to me because I’m not a baseball fan, but the guy who I saw earlier when I came in seemed taken away by the game as he stared at the screen. I’ll refer to him as Sammy Sosa because he’s the only baseball player who I knew from the game. Sammy is a Caucasian guy in his twenties I would say. He sat there eating a gordita and a bottle of water as his beverage which was kind of strange because I had never seen anyone drinking bottled water from commencing my field study at the restaurant.

The drive thru seems empty tonight. Not a single car since I got here.

Bonny and Clyde walk in holding hands. Both seem to be around 21 and deeply in love. Clyde is a Caucasian guy who is suspect is a cowboy judging from his blue jeans, boots and a rodeo t-shirt. Juliet is also a Caucasian. She has blonde hair, brown eyes and kind of oval face. She also wore t-shirt a jeans like her husband to be. They ordered different items and shared with each other the whole time. Clyde had chicken enchilada and a sprite while Bonny had fry tacos and a tamarind juice.

That’s it for sports tonight folks. See you back same time, same place, next week.  Jah over all.

World Wide Love is out.
