Another Friday

 10/10/14
It is Friday at 5 p.m. The weather is partly cloudy and it is quite busy, which is typical for a Friday evening.

Most of the customers on Drive-Thru, where I am positioned, are in high spirits. Loud voices, fast gestures, and smiles very common tonight. One customer in particular was quite cheerful. He was probably in his mid-twenties, white, and with dreadlocks. I had guessed he might have been intoxicated, but he was nevertheless in a good mood. Also, to my surprise he ordered chicken. I had pegged him to be a vegetarian or perhaps even a vegan based on his demeanor.

Another surprising customer was a large Hispanic woman that was with, supposedly, her family. This family included three children, grandparents, and her husband. She ordered an enormous meal and they made quite the mess, not to mention she made the order more difficult than need be by taking forever and being very selective about what needs to go on what. I have noticed that Hispanic families seem to be messier when eating than most other of our customers, with exceptions.

It is now 8 p.m. and we have cleared out most of our cars in Drive-Thru. There are two elderly women and a group of 3 young Hispanic boys eating in the lobby. The women are white and their conversation seems to be mostly whining. I overheard them say something similar to “everything should be given to us when we reach this age. The young men sound like they are having a nerdy conversation, but I could not infer the topic. I was only able to deduce it was a nerdy topic when I heard “defense, hitpoints, and hobgoblin” mentioned.

The young men have been repeatedly ordering more 10 piece chicken nuggets, an item we have a promotional deal on. They have been talking and eating in the lobby for about an hour.
The two elderly women cleaned up after themselves and left, but not before throwing a scowl towards the 3 young men that were sitting nearby. I deduce they are grouches in general.

There is a car on Drive-Thru that ordered nine of our 10 piece chicken nuggets, obviously completely aware of the promotional deal. She appears to be anxious to get her food over the headphone. In the car, to my surprise is only one person. She is a middle aged woman with very heavy makeup whom is obviously not just ordering for herself.

In conclusion tonight was busy, but on Fridays people seem to be in high spirits, probably for the weekend.
