Another Typical Saturday Night

4:00 p.m. my shift begins again at the Great American Steakhouse yet again. There isn't that many people in the bar area when i arrive so it looks like it will be a little slow at least until we get out typical seven o'clock rush. i get a couple of tables before five, a lot of men alone enjoying a late lunch. they all order big steaks one gets a  prime rib and the other a rib eye. I have noticed that the more men go out to eat alone the more likely they are to order big steaks. both of these men finish their meal and said it was the best steak in town. one of these men was from Georgia, he told me he goes the great american every time he is in town. the man even takes home four bottles of steak seasoning. It is crazy just how far the word of the steakhouse travel throughout the united states.

The next couple of hours are a little slow, not too many people go into the restaurant. As usual however, people will begin to arrive around seven or seven thirty.

People began to arrive just at seven thirty. before we knew it we were in a full rush with people coming in and orders coming out. For the second Saturday in a row we get a huge rush where every one is busy. I didn't really get a lot of people that wanted to talk today. most of them just went out to eat, its like people were antisocial that night. i did get one regular, he went in with his date, it is like i know them so well he drinks one Johnnie Walker Black on the rocks with water. since he was on a date though he had three of those drinks that night.

The other table I observed was a group of friends eating before they went out to a club or somewhere. they ate and joked around all night, had a couple of drinks and at one point got into a little friendly argument about one guy owing another guy a certain amount of money. It was funny because at first it was like he had forgotten and denied it, but once he remembered he was like "oh yeah that's right". shortly after that they left.

one by one people began to leave and another Saturday night began to wrap up. The bar eventually got empty and I began my normal closing routine. I finished up my cleaning counted my money and headed home.
