Daycare Day Three

Today, I sit here watching all the children interact with each other. The weather is really rainy, so today the children attitudes seem very calm and not so loud. Some are playing with the guitars, building blocks, smaller toys, and even singing along with the guitar players. I decide to focus on a smaller group. These are three younger boys. Two of which are playing the guitar, and singing “O’Mcdondald” song. One of the two boys is standing there beating the triangles. One of the boys sits down and starts to focus on the strings.

He goes by himself, and starts to pluck he strings one by one. He looses himself in the playing with the guitar, he forgets he’s with other people. All of the sudden one of the other little boys interrupts his playing by playing louder and singing.

They are having so much fun. They start to act as if they are in a band. They both begin to play both guitars, and sing whatever comes to mind. Then one random little boy snatches the guitar from the other and starts playing with it. the teacher is called over to the area by the boy of which that had gotten the guitar token away from. She tries to see if they are willing to share the guitar. The child that took the guitar, says no and crawls away. The little boy gets lost again in playing the guitar. He sneezes and rubs the moistness from the sneeze on the guitar.

Soon it’s “Candle Time” this is where the blue blanket is placed on the floor. Candle lit and they sit around the blanket on their “sitters”. The teacher opens the door when they get quiet, so that they can hear the rain falling. Then, the teacher has them to pretend that the rain is getting on them. As they act different types of weather. A child decides to blow out the candle, without being told to do so.

The children get their “Super Powers” and rush to clean the room of which they were playing. One of the little boys drops a huge block onto his foot. He starts to throw a fit, because he doesn’t know how to handle the pain. Soon he just begin to cry. He goes to sit in a corner by himself, while everyone continues to clean.

After they have all cleaned up, the teacher begins to play the guitar. She sings for them to touch whatever comes to mind. The children are all interacting rushing around the room to find whatever she has said. One of the boys laugh really hard when the teacher says touch “made out of cloth”. Then the teacher starts to sing a song about each of the children. They decide which person she is talking about.

Then the two snack helper of the day are told to go wash their hands and to set up for the children to eat. While the other children continue to sing along with the teacher. For snacks today they are having apples, water from their water bottles, and cookies. While some of the children are washing their hands, one starts to throw soap at the other students. The teacher soon gets involved and makes him stop.

The child of which that dropped a block on his foot, is still hurting. So he is helped to the restroom to wash his hands and get ready for a snack by the teacher. He will not let his foot touch the ground at all. The other children are a little quiet now that they are all eating and drinking. They are each sitting next to their close friends today. Then, they begin to socialize with each other while they continue to eat. A moth flies around the room. Some of them think that it is a butterfly. They have a learning session, learning of how you can tell the difference between the two.

A child shows up, and all the students yell the other kids name, telling him hi. After they have finished their food, they start to ask for more. Soon parents are coming to get their children as time get close to go home for the day. They start to ask where their parents are as they see their classmates starting to leave. they start to examine the moth when it gets stuck in the window seal. While the children wait to be picked up, they start to put their shoes on. They start to sign themselves out for the day with their parents their to watch.
