Sober Drunk Fun

This weekend I decided to take a little break from homework and studying for a night out with a few friends. College kid going to the club, crazy I know. My friends and I are all old enough to drink but I’m not much of a drinker. I’m a little more reserved when I go to clubs and stuff so I was the DD for the night. I never realized how ridiculous everyone looks when they’re trashed, I definitely saw things differently because I was sober.

The music is poppin’, everyone’s dancing and drinking and it’s a good time so far. I then notice the guy to the left is totally hitting on this girl who is just not having it. Which I might add is rather hilarious to watch. He’s totally drunk and completely making a fool of himself with this poor girl. This is one type of guy I noticed while being at the club.

In the VIP section there’s a group of guys mid 20’s inviting all the trashed girls up to party with them. Most likely hoping to take one home, or two. It’s so funny to watch them because these girls are so trashed and the guys are so trashed but they continue to drink like there’s no tomorrow. They’re dressed in their polo outfits, offering shots, nudging their buddies because they think they’re going to get lucky. This is probably the most annoying group at the club so far.

To my right is the guy who genuinely believes he’s going to find the love of his life at the club. Drinking alone of course, not too sure if he came alone or just lost his friends. He’s totally scoping out the place, looking for the girl of his dreams. Let me tell you, she’s not here and I’m tempted to tell him that. I notice he’s kind of tipsy because he’s definitely having some issues using his cellphone correctly, this is by far the most amusing thing to watch.

Now that I’ve labeled the types of gentleman there are at the club, I can also add that they were all drunk. I mean what is it that makes people want to drink that much? I’m pretty sure it gives these guys the confidence they don’t have while sober. It’s amusing at first but then you start to worry about how they’re going to get home and little things like that. Clubs are fun, dancing is fun, and drinking can be fun if you know your limit.

With that being said, I kind of realized that everyone there needed alcohol in their system to enjoy the night. Even my friends were kind of buzzing. I don’t think drinking is a bad thing. However, I do think that if you have to drink to have a good time you’re doing it all wrong. Trust me when I say I’m having ten times more fun than you being sober, watching the drunks make fools of themselves. Alcohol isn’t everything.
