Tailgating Madness

The day is Saturday, time is around 3:00 P.M. everyone is wearing their shirts, hoodies, representing their school colors for the college game. The opposing team has fans that are relentless, and intent on slandering my schools name, through taunts, and any other means necessary. It was my first tailgate for college so, I learned quickly to expect the unexpected, because at tailgates nothing goes the way you plan. I observed numerous people while I was there and will describe a certain group of people I found most interesting throughout that night.

The people I was tailgating with was a fraternity we will refer to as Masta Betas Alpha. The first group of people will be the first people I will be writing about; the group consisted of five people. The president of the fraternity’s name was brudda iz, he was a Hispanic male around the age of 21. The next was a more intelligent senior whose name was braniac. There was a very beautiful Hispanic girl who was around the age of 19; her name is tangerines. Finally the last two people were identical twins, who were members of the fraternity, their ethnicity was African American; there age was 22, their name is tweedle dee and tweedle dum. By the time I got to their tailgate I noticed one thing about the people I was hanging out with; they were all drunk, and ready to make their night as exciting as possible. Brudda iz asked everyone in the tent to take a shot of fireball with him that one shot ended up turning into 4 shots in one sitting. Astonished by their fuel to get as drunk as possible was amazing. Tangerine tells Brudda iz and the rest of the group to slow their role. But motivated by a sense of masculine dominance and pride, the members of Masta Beta ignore her warnings.
The night drew on longer and the time was now 4:30, and of course more drinks were poured for the members. I started to notice certain things about the particular group I was hanging out with, characteristics that made each of the aforementioned characters unique in their own way. For instance I noticed that Brudda iz was very girl crazy when he was drunk. Every female he seen he said he was in love with. He would go up to random group of girls to talk to and would give the girls different aliases for him. Such as tyrome, Kalub Phi delt, and he even called himself Mack daddy king to one group of females. Of course his ignorance was irritating to all females he talked to but he didn’t care.

I noticed that as Tangerines drank more she became wiser, assuming the role of big sister for the other members of the fraternity, for instance she always to Brudda iz to calm down, and stop making a fool of himself. Braniac used this opportunity to try and vent all of his problems about the rumors he was hearing about a girl he was talking to. I recall him saying to tangerines “are all the rumors going around about jazzy j true? Did she really make out with all these different guys at the party? Is she really hooking up with one of the members in the fraternity?” Tangerine being a gentle soul she was said no. But you could tell from the look on her face she didn’t know what was true or not.
Finally tweedle dee and Tweedle Dum were the funniest entertainment for the night. They went around chanting and supporting the opposing team with all the fans of the home team. They did it on purpose for attention. They would yell out “F*** our team we suck”, and used a bunch of slanders that were inappropriate, however they somehow managed to make it entertaining. I also noticed that because they were twins they would use their separate identities to trick people. For instance when they talked to a group of females throughout the night Tweedle Dee would go first, and he would maintain a conversation for about 15 minutes on average. Then his identical brother Tweedle Dum would go to the same group of females with a totally opposite personality of his brother, the females they talked to thought that he was bi polar or something, it was very entertaining.

As for all the other groups of people at the tailgate we will refer to lobos and aggies, they all acted in a similar way, which was drunken madness. The lobos picked fights will all aggies fans, literally a fight broke out right in front of the fraternity, a group of 6 people total we will label as the scrappers, mobbed each other in a big fight. Finally the police on hand came and pepper sprayed all the groups that were fighting, not just a little pepper spray either, they full out their cans on the group of the scrappers. Fights were breaking out one after the other during the tailgate. As for the females all let loose and were dancing with all the drunk males. You even had a couple spontaneous group of females take of their shirts and dance on speaker booths within their tents. All in all my first tailgating experience was really fun and entertaining.
