Happy Hour

When you first hear Happy Hour the first thing that comes to your mind is alcohol, right? In this case we’re definitely not talking about alcohol, or a bar, we’re talking about Sonic happy hour. I’m not really sure why but Sonic is the place to be man. I mean from families, to dates, to drunks, people love sonic. I ended up going to Sonic for happy hour this weekend and I noticed one thing about everyone there.
So picture this, sitting on the left table closest to the street is the couple on their awkward first date. In the middle table there’s a family of about six getting their food and I’m sure discussing anything that happened this week that was out of the ordinary. To the right we have a group of teens who think they’re so cool because they’re all at sonic doing stupid things teenagers do. Then there’s people like me who would rather sit in the car than be outside.  I ended up parking in the middle so I got to see everyone and what was going on at this happy hour.
Everyone at this happy hour ordered something, whether it was drinks from happy hour or food. Of course the boy that was on the first date insisted he paid for everything and of course the girl was like “omg no it’s okay” when she really expected him to all along. The family in the middle is laughing and sharing food all around the table. Some serious bonding is happening if you ask me. Then there’s the teens with their cool cars their mom bought them, blasting music that no one wants to hear but them.
I had been at Sonic for like an hour when the family left. They had made a mess at their table and I guess it didn’t occur to them to clean it up because they just left it there. The couple was the second to leave and they didn’t exactly leave a mess like the family. They did however leave a small mess, he threw the straw rapper on the floor and the girl left the napkins on the table. They did throw their drinks away though.
The last to leave was the stupid teenagers who were throwing fries at each other before they left. I would still say the family in the middle made the biggest mess. I just couldn’t believe that almost all of these people didn’t clean up after themselves. Not only did they not cleanup they clearly had no respect for the Sonic employees. It was mind blowing that out of all the people there not a single one had the decency to clean up their own mess.
I guess “happy hour” is sloppy hour as well. I don’t always go to happy hour at Sonic so I wouldn’t know if this happens every week. I can only assume that other people come and make a mess like these people did. I hope that next week during happy hour Sonic gets people who were taught to clean up after themselves.
