I rest into my usual coffee shop stop and favorite seat of the house. Tonight the coffee shop seems very quiet, not very much action going on. The occasional "regular" stopping in for the daily caffeine fix, but nothing too exciting or "happening" this evening. This time I chose not to bring a fine handmade cigar to accompany me, simply because of time constraints in my schedule this week I didn't have time this particular evening to embark on a imported, handmade journey.
I chose a seasonal latte this evening instead of my usual medium roast coffee to depart from the usual and also because since I am not enjoying a cigar tonight, I have the freedom to drink something that wont muddy the flavor of the cigar.
As I sit and sip my hot latte I observe tonight that there mostly young college students busy studying from laptops or some sort of electronic device, or there elderly people simply reading a book or conversing quietly in a corner with a friend or spouse. The employees of the coffee shop are having their own conversations amongst themselves as they clean and pick up around the coffee shop. I notice this evening that most of the customers are drinking seasonal hot beverages tonight which has changed since the first blog where I had observed peoples beverage choice. The first time I had noticed beverage choice, people were drinking iced coffees, Italian sodas or if they were drinking some kind of hot beverage, the flavor choice was more hot weather friendly, such as, berry or some sort of citrus splash flavor. This evening from the drink orders that I have over heard, have all been more cold weather, seasonal or season appropriate. From simply the drink orders, it is apparent that the season and weather are changing, slowly but surely even though I still see short sleeve shirts and shorts on almost all of the customers that have walked in, sure signs that the season is changing but maybe that the weather is still trying to catch up quickly.
After I notice that my pleasurable seasonal latte is coming down the last sip of joy. I put away my pen and paper of note taking this evening and walk out of the coffee shop, highly anticipating a chiller climate, yummy food and the holiday season that is approaching.
