There are people engaging in conversations all
around on every floor. It is fifteen till nine. The temperature is cool and
everyone out seems to be enjoying it. As I sit outside my room on the third
floor, two girls to my right are carrying on with a conversation. They are
wearing dark colors of clothing and no shoes. Both girls have brown hair, but
one has shorter hair than the other. They laugh and smile as they talk.
The girl with the shorter hair pulls a phone from
her pocket and begins to play music. She plays an old rock song. It is the type
of song you would hear on an old rocky movie. They sing along to the song with
much enthusiasm, not caring how loud they are, or who hears them. They carry on
with bits of their conversation as they sing. The next song to play is a Bob
Marley song. They sing along to this one as well. The song after that sounds
like a Christian song. I take it that these girls are Christian. They seem to
like different types of genres of music, and they are probably very outgoing judging
by the lack of embarrassment they had from singing out loud.
Straight across from me two rooms to the right a guy
leans against the rail talking on the phone. He wears short socks, basketball
shorts, a hat, and a red t-shirt. He has the door to his room open, walking in
and out as he speaks to the phone. I can pick up on a couple of words he is
saying. I hear him use the phrase “pretty good” and the word “yeah” at least
eight times. He gives out a date and ends the conversation with “thank you, I
love you too, bye.” Assuming by the lack of interest in the conversation, and
the shortness of it, as most teenagers are now a days with their parents, he
must have been talking to one of his parents over his day and how he’s been
doing.
To my right something catches my attention. The
short haired girl’s phone lands on a slow, sad song by Passenger, Let Her Go,
and the other girl complains out loud and says, “no sad songs please!!” The
short haired girl then apologizes, and changes the song to something more lively.
Based off this comment made by the other girl, she must either be going through
some type of heartbreak or she is just feeling down.
After a few more minutes the two girls get up and
head down the stairs.
On the second floor a guy sagging his skinny jeans
is in a fight with the vending machine. He is wearing a blue beany, a blue long
sleeve shirt, and some vans. He is probably a skater. He is banging on the
vending machine and attempting to shake it. He bangs on the machine a couple
more times and swears at it. Skater boy finally gives up on the fight and
storms off into his room. The vending machine must have taken his money.
Skater boy lost his money, and the fight.
