This week up at the
Multon center there was a considerable increase in the amount of student
athletes that were up here, and according to the other student athletes its due
to the fact that study hall hour reports are being distributed to the head
coaches. And once student athletes do not fulfill the minimum hours for study
hall they will have to deal with their coaches through such means such as not
practicing for the week, missing a game, early practice, or even additional
practice.
The studying patterns continued to remain the same amongst the freshman residing more so in the lounge and the older students/transfers residing more so in the individual cubicles. As well as the amount of students in study hall increasing so do the persistence and enforcing of being quite as well as actually doing work, although some student still managed to get a way with sleeping, due to the fact that they were more slick and discrete about it, especially the males.

As
time continues to pass by up at Multon I notice more coaches come in and check
on their individual athletes to makes sure they are actually in study hall, and
the coaches would even inquire about other athletes to the athletes. And you
could slowly see the nervousness build up about where they were going to say
their teammates were, some would respond with actual verbal answers and others
would simply shrug or have other gestures with their bodies in hopes it would
be enough to end the questioning.
The
most common athletes in study hall for this week would have to be the
basketball girls and track girls, continuing the fact the girls are more so in
study hall then boys. With basketball it appeared that they were coming in
right after practice, whereas for the track girls they were coming in right
before practice, with changes of clothes, tennis shoes, books, and laptops
weighing down their backpacks. Those who were more serious about getting their
work done appeared to have the most study material for both sports. With
basketball just getting done with practice they were more likely to be found in
the chairs that recline backwards then the track girls due to fatigue. Overall
this week in the Multon center for study hall nothing seemed to change that
much from the first week aside from the amount of students in study hall.
