Just Busy Busy Busy

As I make my way to my field site, I notice it is a bit chilly outside; the clouds are grey, you can hardly see the blue sky. The temperature is below average for a summer morning. As I walk through the doors, I find a nice comfortable spot, with a nice view to make my observation. Before I make myself comfortable, I notice plenty of people who are sitting at the computer stations waiting without using the computer. I think to myself, "What if all these people coming to the library are in need of a computer?".

I then look to my right, and I see something very interresting and surprising. An older man, about 70 years old is on the computer. I believe he might be studying for a quiz because he is constantly working without with his wondering around. This incredible man is wearing a light blue polo shirt, with light green, horizontal lines. He has denim blue slacks with some white running shoes. His hair is a light-ish grey with a mixture of some white, but you can hardly see it because he is wearing a denim blue baseball cap.

This elderly man, who I will name Busy Bob, stood up from his study table and walked over to the counter to ask for help. A librarian, who greatfully assisted Busy Bob, helped him print out a few papers. From my understandings, I believe it might be the first time Busy Bob has used the printer in this library. I saw this because I hear Busy Bob tell the librarian he always attends the other library on campus, but he needed to print out this page as soon as possible since he was just around the corner. As soon as Busy Bob had his printed page, he packed up and left the library without rushing.

Now that Busy Bob has left, I continue to do my observation. In another study table, I see who seem to be a student at NMSU working incredibly hard. I'm looking at her table, and I see three books- middle length open, one notebook, a research website open on the computer screen, and of course, who doesn't do their homework with a cup of coffee by their side?

This young lady, of maybe about 26 years old is wearing work-out clothes. She has her hair tied up into a pony tail with a grey hair tie. I them she her stand up from her space and walk to the conter for some help. The person at the counter guides her to the direction she should go. In about 5 minutes or so, Study Girl, the young lady, comes right back to the station she was working at, with a giant, olive green book. She immediately opens the book and begins to read.

While Study Girl is reading, I look at the clock and it is 11:05 am. I decided I've been at the library for quite enough time. I begin to end my observation here and walk towards the chilly weather outside. I take a glance look at Study Girl one last time, and she continues her work without being interrrupted by anyone. So here I go, making my way to my car in this nice cold weather.
