Stereotypes

During week two I tried to pay more attention at what people actually ordered during the rush hour. By the end of the week I would try and guess what people were going to order and many of the times I was correct.

One group of people that I could usually tell what they were going to order were the middle age women who looked like they were on lunch from work these women were usually dress very professional, usually in skirts or slacks and most of them in heals. This group’s favorite menu meal were the salads with a lemonade. I also over heard one large group of women talking about exercise which led me to believe that they were trying to watch their weight. I found this somewhat ironic because they are trying to live a healthy life but they still decide to go eat at a fast food restaurant. What I found very humorous was that the next time that I saw that same group of women visit, about a third of them decided to give on the diet and they ended up ordering a burger with fries.

Another group of people that I can usually tell what they are going to order are the older the older Hispanic people. I myself am Mexican and I know my parents do the same thing so I find it very funny that they only order from the dollar menu. Usually this group of people will ask for the “dollar burger” and the “dollar spicy chicken burger” but we do not sell that one and they end up getting mad because we are not McDonalds. After they order from the dollar menu they end up paying with a big bill which leads me to believe that they are just stingy. When this group of people decides order something outside of the dollar menu they usually decide to order as they call it “the chicken burger” but in Spanish of course. Which is annoying because we sell about 5 different chicken sandwiches.
