To many people tattoo's aren't just some sort of artwork you like and place on your body, to many people they have special meaning behind it. My best friend Brianna had been diagnosed with cancer at the age of 5. Her life was a struggle, she wasn't able to be like all the other kids. She had to be home schooled, the doctors office was basically her second home. Growing up she didn't have many friends and never had the time or energy for anything.
At the age of 13 she beat cancer. She fought hard for 8 long years. Even though she no longer has a kidney, she is so grateful to be alive. Once she beat cancer, she didn't let anything stop her. She tried her hardest to play sports and do all the activities she was told she possibly wouldn't be able o do. She is a fighter.
Brianna decided to get a lotus flower with the words "Cancer Survivor" around it. A lotus flower has many meanings depending on it's culture. In Korea it represents immortality and/or someone indestructible. After beating cancer, she knows that nothing can break her. She believes that cancer is the worst thing a human being could ever go through. The lotus flower also represents to her how her body is now cleansed and pure from this horrible sickness.
Scott told us how many people come into the shop for tattoo's of plants, he told us that most of those people are families with indian blood. Some indian tribes believe that plants heal, other indian tribes believe that the plants represent them. My best friend believes a lotus flower represents her.
