Saturday Night
Another day of work has come, another Saturday night(which is supposed to be the most busy day of the week). I arrive at my bar at 4 p.m to an almost empty bar only two tables are there, two guys drinking beer and a couple enjoying a late lunch. they aren't my table to worry about so i focus on opening up my bar and preparing for whatever rush has yet to come.
An hour passes by I get my first table, as the first table walks in i get a little rush of 5 more tables back to back. the biggest of these tables was one of five guys who had obviously just finished playing golf. i take their order and they are still arguing among each other about who won the game. It was kind of funny to see hear them make fun of each other. My other tables were kind of boring had not much interest in them.
More time passes by its now about 6:30 or 7 p.m. and our typical Saturday night rush is beginning to show up. one by one the bar and the restaurant itself begins to fill up. in about thirty minutes we are now in a full on rush and the restaurant is completely full. As i am attending to my customers i notice a lot of high school kids coming into the restaurant and i think to myself "prom time already" but then i immediately remember that it is September and it is obviously homecoming time. Talk about the situation begins to arise within the servers, the problem with attending to high school kids is that they do not tip us what so ever. so as the rest of the night goes on you start to hear the complains by the servers "really only one dollar" and the problem still remains. as lucky as i am the high school tables start to enter the bar and i get the opportunity to attend to two of these tables. i think i did get lucky because one of these tables was the son off one of our office staff so luckily he knew how to tip. the group acts normal just like a family they talk and joke among each other and have the same respect as if they were out with their parents.
The rest of the night unfolds the rush begins to die down slowly the people begin to leave one by one. late night tables can be fun to attend depending on the people whether they like to joke around or not. i have one table claiming she is on a diet yet she ordered a tower of bud light. I laughed and told her good luck, then the whole table laughed as well.
The end of the night has arrived and the last table is getting ready to leave. we prepare to start closing the bar and finish all of our duties so that we could go home.
