Ay, Chihuahua!

This week, I ended up going to Frenger’s, no time to go to an actual restaurant this weekend! Anyway, I’ve been there before but this time there were more people than usual. There is one place there that I tend to order food from more is called Chihuahua’s and mainly because their tortillas are delicious! They remind me of the ones that my grandmother used to make all the time. As I sat in a table, I watched the people who were waiting in line to order their food and they were all on their phones! There were three guys back to back and they were all on their phones, not checking to see how the line was going.

As I was looking around there were people who were alone and there were others who were in small pairs or groups. The ones who were alone were on their phones or laptops while those who were in pairs or small groups had notebooks and tables, occasionally they would check their phones maybe to check their time, but they seemed to be studying, something that I am completely tired of!

There was also some of the janitors on site, one was an elderly man that I see every time I go there, he looks really sweet, I sometimes feel like I should buy him or burrito or something because he is always cleaning up after everyone but I can never seem to get the courage to ask him.

In another table, there are three men, either they are majoring in business or they are here for a special event because they are wearing suits. They look too fancy, at least compared to everyone else who is here.

Every now and then, I glance to look at the people who are there by themselves, and unfortunately every time I look up ad take a glance at the “loners”, there is this one guy that always catches me looking at him. I just hope he doesn't think I’m stalking him or anything, but at least I didn't seem anymore afterwards, maybe I just scared him away. Watching the people that are alone, using the word “loner” seems to be a little too harsh, they are really not doing anything besides eating and being on their phones. Which I think can be pretty disgusting because our phones can be so full of germs and touching the phones and then touching our food can transfer so many germs but hey, maybe they know how “clean” their phone is.

In general just watching everyone has seriously made me think about how much we are beginning to depend on technology and it is really quiet sad. And since I am on going to restaurants every week, I tend to notice that there are many people who are either over weight or obese, not that I am trying to be rude or offend anyone but seriously, take a look around and you will see what I mean.  And I have no reason to doubt that the increase in our need for technology has been something that has contributed greatly to what is now known as an epidemic.
