Pasta

We were in the mood for pasta. We decided we’d go out to eat since it was Saturday and we had no other plans. We got dressed, my suitemate and I. I’m the only one with a car so I drive us. We’re on our way to eat at St. Claire’s, it’s our favorite.

We’re greeted at the door and walked over to a table of our choice. It was busy and loud on this cold Saturday night. There’s live music and a different menu because it’s only for dinner. Our waitress appears and offers us some wine to taste but we politely decline. We decide to try an appetizer we’ve never had before and our waitress suggests her favorite which we proceed to try.

Many people surround us and it’s warm and toasty inside. We appear to be the youngest ones here. Our food takes what seems like forever to come out. All the staff here is very polite and great sports when dealing with cranky customers. I’m impressed because it’s not every day you come across such polite staff.

There’s a large party behind us, mostly elderly people. For such a big party they were pretty quiet. To the right of us is what appears to be a young couple. They looked like a couple but when they got the bill the girl paid. Maybe they were just friends, I’m not sure. I was confused by this.

By the time our food came my friend and I were famished. Savoring every bite, we demolished our food. We left a little room for dessert because I had been hyping up their brownie for weeks. I promised my friend we’d get one when we came. Our waitress’ manners had no expiration and put out food in to go boxes without complaint. Our brownie was brought out shortly and did not disappoint my friend.

After leaving our waitress a large tip we head out into the cold. Carrying our left over food we get back into my car who warmly greets us with warm air. Our stomachs are full and we’re feeling quite accomplished because we actually did something on a Saturday night.
