Saturday Stoly Birthday

Arriving at the bar at around 4 p.m. typical Saturday night. This weekend there are actually people in the bar when I arrive. A man sitting all alone drinking a beer and enjoying his meal. At the other end of the bar a family sitting around the dinner table enjoying their late lunch or early dinner. I don't really have to worry about these table since i barely arrived, all I have to worry about is preparing the bar.

The next few hours seem to last for ever, due to day light savings time, however people seem to be coming in earlier I don't know if it is because of it getting dark later or what but I assume that it getting darker earlier is the reason for people coming into the restaurant later. As expected it gets busy for out normal dinner rush. I get a total of five tables during the rush and a full bar. All of my tables aren't really talkative so all really do is take their orders and attend to them properly.

The first table is an older couple maybe in their early 50's or so. The lady orders a glass of chardonnay while the man orders a draft bud light. Couple orders a filet mignon and a rib eye steak. both are very quiet and talk among each other only. Of course there is some kind of conversation whenever i ask how everything is but not a lot so just keep an eye on them and mind my own business.

The next table is a table of four, a family. two teenagers and the two parents obviously. They are somewhat regulars as they aren't in the restaurant very often but just enough for me to know who they are. They always order the same, all of them order sirloin steaks and they always order a dessert at the end of their meal. They finish everything and leave the restaurant.

The third table is a table of people maybe in their early 40's, a couple. The couple orders steak burgers and a couple of beers. nothing special with this couple they finish their food and their beers and leave.

The fourth table is again an older couple maybe in their late 40's. they seem to be celebrating some special occasion as they order wine to drink. They order a rib eye and filet mignon to eat for dinner. I had some conversation with them whenever i would go and talk with them but nothing too big our of the ordinary. they also finish with their meals and order three dessert's to go. They get everything they need and then they leave.

The last table is a table of four, two couples both of them appearing to be in their late 40's like most of my tables that night. One of the gentlemen is celebrating his birthday, I find this out because as I am pouring his stoly vodka on the rocks, he begs for more in his glass because it his birthday. So the two gentlemen get drinks from the bar while the two ladies get iced teas. They all order new york steaks except for one lady which ordered a haddock. They all seem to be reminiscing on memories while they are waiting for their food since they are all laughing and seem to be having a good time. They all get their food and enjoy everything. When they are done the man asks if he gets anything for his birthday so I decide to give him a brownie for his birthday. He shares his dessert with his friends and as soon as they are done they pay their tab and leave.

After my last table leaves it pretty much wraps up the rest of the night even though it was barely around 9:30. It seems as though the entire day light savings time had effected every one going out late so not very many people were out that late. I begin closing down the bar and finish all of my duties so that I could head home.
