Winter

It is Thursday night and you can start to see winter is approaching. It is getting dark sooner, temperatures are dropping faster, and you can see a few leaves starting to get brown. There are less people at the duck pond than usual and I suspect it might be from the cold.

There is a young man, Edward, who is probably a college student eating. He is sitting on a table and is eating his food while occasionally using his cell phone.

A group of three men, Frances, Gil, and Herbert, are walking down the side of the pond. The three appear to be footballs players and are coming from the aggie memorial stadium area. They are headed towards the dorms and actually come back a few minutes later headed in the direction they came. I suspected they might have forgotten something but I don’t see them again so maybe they were just picking up something at the dorms.

A young woman, Isabella, is jogging down the sidewalk with her dog. She is jogging with a medium sized dog that appears to be more tired than her. They head down the international mall and I don’t get to see them again.

Edward finished eating and sits in the grass for a few minutes on his phone before walking away.

The construction on the nearby building has progressed but again very slowly. They finished the roof but I can’t notice anything new, maybe they starting working on the inside. It seemed like everything was going very slow until suddenly it took shape, it now appears it might be slowing down again.

It is a while before I see anyone else again. After a few minutes though a couple, Jose and Kristen, are walking holding hands headed up towards the pan am. By their age it appears as if they might be college students. Both are wearing sweaters and have the hood over their head.

It was a very slow day today at the duck pond. I believe the new cold weather has started to play a part on this, we will see next week if this pattern starts to repeat. No one was really spending time at the pond; mostly everyone was heading somewhere and was only passing by.
