Homecoming

This week in the Multon Center student athletes along with other students on campus highly anticipated the Homecoming game coming up this weekend. Student athletes continued to talk about who they were voting for, what was going on after the game, would they win the homecoming game, what outfits to wear, and of course what they were doing for tailgating. This was the third most exciting game of the year aside from the games against their rivals this year, which were referred to as the rivalry of I-10 and I-25. For many of the student athletes campaigning for their fellow student athletes who were running for homecoming court this year was another priority they had on their plate. By including them on their social media, creating flyers, and just getting the word out to the entire student body of who to vote for was also important. Also along with the festivities of homecoming weekend student athletes still had to focus on the end of the year projects as well as studying for the end of the year exams.
And for some of the student athletes these exams and projects were of the upmost importance because it would be their last exam or project ever as an undergraduate student, being that they were graduating in December. With football season coming to an end this was one of the last home games for the football team of the season, as well as the ending of the football season for the players. This also marked the start of winter sports ergo basketball. And for the basketball athletes the start of their season was in less than a week so maintaining grades and having effective practices was now becoming a factor for them, because it was now their time to shine and represent their school on the court.
In terms of study hall and how all of this factored into the study hall environment a lot of tired faces and worn out bodies walked the halls of study hall due to the fact that practices were getting longer and the work load at school was getting heavier. And not only were athletics and classes beginning to change, many students were highly anticipating the thanksgiving break coming up in 2 weeks. This break would give them a small reprieve from school and practice before finals for most of the student athletes, but for football and basketball their thanksgiving break would be short-lived due to the fact that they were in the midst of their season, and had to continue with practices. School was finally about to reach the end of its first semester for the 201-2015 academic year, and for many of the athletes they were about to enter their off season while others were beginning to enter their in season. This meant that these student athletes would now have to balance their schoolwork as well as athletics on a whole new level.
