Praise the Lord!

Another Sunday morning I spend sitting in the pews of this Catholic sanctuary. Today, like always, the sun was beaming down on the people as they came in from outside into the cooled off church. There was a light breeze outside that made the temperature just right. I take my seat and wait for the service to begin.

The music starts to play and we stand and praise to the Lord further into the service the Father shares the importance of praise in a religious relationship with the Lord. He describes that worship gives one the opportunity to devote their selves to God. It is like having one on one time with him and a chance to make him listen to he. worships a good thing to help the younger one's build their relationship with Christ as well. As a younger child in the church, they aren't necessarily interested in the sermon, and really, they don't even understand half of what the pastor is saying. But, the songs in worship is what interests them. Music is the way to get to kids, the Father explains. Also, the great thing about worship is that you can do it anywhere. if your walking down the street you can be humming a praise song, or you can even be bumping the radio to powerful upbeat praise music that will make you sing along. it doesn't matter what type or form of praise that you do, all's that matters is that you do it in some way, shape, or form.

A major topic that the Father discussed today was how to raise your child and help them build a strong relationship with Christ, and for hem to be proud of their religion. He explains how it can be as simple as bringing your child to Sunday service with you every week. If you start tem off at a young age, then they will WANT to come to church when they are older and out of the house. But, he also explained that you cannot make them do what they do not wish to do. If you force your teenager to go to church, then simply, they will not have any desire to go to church early in the morning. Another contribution that parent can do to help their offspring grow into the Catholic religion is by saying a simple prayer before each meal to thank God, and to pray to the Rosary regularly. He explained how too often children do not wish to attend church to worry about their relationship with Christ because of the fact that they have no say in the matter. He encourages the parents to go about the right way in making their children want to build a relationship with their God in their lives, and not to make it a hassle. In doing this the children will grow older and have the desire to go to church, and sa a prayer before each meal, as well as before they go to sleep.
