The Three Blind Mice

On this windy and gloomy Halloween day I walk into the coffee shop and place my order. It’s a new guy that I have never seen before. I tell him my order (a Chai Tea) and he seems out of it. Like he is having trouble concentrating. He asks if I need my receipt and I tell him no to which he asks me again because he forgot and I tell him no again. I walk to an open table and sit down. As my computer is boosting up I hear, “Chai to go!” and see the new employee put down the drink in the front like Starbucks does. That is unusual because the employees usually come and bring your drink to you. I get up and get my drink and sit back down. I take a sip and my drink doesn’t taste the same… this guy is changing everything on me! Boo. As I officially begin typing I notice who is around me. There is a gentlemen siting in the next table over that I have seen before reading on his kindle. I think I had called him reading man before? In the table next to me there is a girl who opened her laptop and seems to be doing some assignment. On the sofa across the room are a man and a woman who seems to be in fun conversation. A girl walks in and apparently she knows the employees because they are talking about a guy they know that got a job at “Spirtwind.” Though it seems she wasn’t supposed to say that out loud because that is there conversation. After they are done talking she waits for her order. A couple of minutes later a man walks in and she jumps up to give him the most loving hug I have ever seen. You can really tell that she loves the guy and they do that cute kiss on the forehead “I love you” stuff. They are to far away for me to hear what they are saying. Two girls walk in and place their order and one of the girls recognizes the guy on his kindle. She goes up to him and says, “Hello” and they get into some conversation. She asks him what he is reading on and he tells her it’s his new kindle. She sits down in the table next to him along with her friends. He asks her what she is doing for Halloween and she says that she is going to Arizona and he replies, “Don’t do that you’ll get in trouble!” and she says, “No I won’t… I’ll be doing homework!” and laughs and says, “Yeah whatever!” she says, “What are you doing?” and he replies, “Oh well nothing… I uh got things to do.” And she says, “Oh well hanging out is nice too.” They both smile and chuckle and the conversation stops there. Everything is quiet for a while when an older man in his 40’s comes up to kindle man and asks him something. They seem to know each other and based on thir conversation I am thinking kindle man is a professor. The employee that looks like Jared Letto came out and brought the girl who was talking to kindle man her food. She makes a comment on how excited she is to finally eat. He seems to be a little nervous when he talks to the young girl. He asks, “What are you going to be for Halloween?” she replies, “Oh my friends are going to be the three blind mice!” and he kind of just laughs and smiles and doesn’t really say anything. (Nervous). The girl says she needs to hit the road so she gets up to leave and he says, “Have fun and be safe!” she says, “Have a great weekend!” everything is quiet again for a while. There are not many people in the shop today. The girl sitting next to me is continuously working on her laptop. As I am getting used to the quiet kindle man starts talking out loud very suddenly and I realize that he talking to someone on th phone while wearing his headphones. He is talking to someone about “Future projections” “Models” “Future environment” “Rebuttal” So now I am even more confused on what he does. I don’t have time to figure it out as it is time for me to leave! Until next time!
