A.M. vs. P.M.
It's that time again where I go to the gym early in the morning. 5:45 AM to be exact. The previous time I went to the gym this early there was twice the amount of people than 2:45 in the afternoon. As I pulled up in the parking lot, I notice quite a few cars in front of the building. I walk through the front doors and discover that there was less people than the previous morning. But still, more than the afternoon. I give my card number to Alicia, a new worker that I did not recognize. She was wearing a jacket over her uniform, given that it was pretty cold this morning.
I walk over to the locker room and put my things away in the first isle. There was a woman coming out of the changing rooms with her hair wet. She was brushing her hair, I assume she must have used the gym's shower before work. She was changed into black pants and pink shirt with her purse at hand. It looked like she headed straight to work after working out. Another woman sits on the bench looking at the overhead locker room TV. She wraps up her headphones and is gathering her keys. There are two other women in the next isle closest to the mirrors, but they seem to be just arriving like me. I walk passed the bathrooms and see that it is empty. On to the gym.
Most of the treadmills were taken, so I walk down the isle to the very last one. The majority of the people using the treadmills are women. There are about four older aged men also walking. Four women appear to be running, the rest walking. I notice that almost all of the women who walk use the treadmill at an incline, giving them a more challenged walk. All of the men walk normal, just at a faster speed.
When I finished, I went to the arms section. A lot of the machines were taken this morning, a lot more men than women. As I rested on the machine I was currently using, I experienced interaction. Something that doesn't usually happen, considering I wear headphones every time I go to the gym. A middle aged man, Tom, wearing blue shorts and a green shirt approaches me. He asked how much longer I would be using the machine, but then had to repeat his question because I was wearing headphones. I answered and he replied with a thank you, and waited until I finished. He then right after used the machine I was on, and I laughed because there was an identical machine right next to it.
